These are great for kids learning to fish with lures and cost less than a "Kastmaster". They are identical to a "Kastmaster" lure but at a fraction of the cost. So it does not cost as much when the kids lose a few to a snag or bad knot. I (we) have caught stocked rainbow trout, lake trout, wiper (1/4 ounce size) and small mouth bass with this lure in the 1/4th and 1/8th ounce sizes.

the lures look great and have held up well. I have used them the last few times i have gone out and unfortunately have not caught anything with them yet. I can attest to the fact that the hooks are quite sharp though. I caught myself on one of them while taking my pole out of the car.

I decided to go cheap and buy a pack of these for the same price I would have paid for a single Kastmaster. However, these are not Kastmasters. They look like it, they feel like it, but I can use the same color Kastmaster and get consistent hits, and usually land a few fish. I haven't had anything even chase these. It's like the fish know or something.

You'll catch trout all day in 4ft water with these. They're heavy enough for a long and accurate cast on a windy day with 2lb line a me light rod. Be careful to not let it sink, they like to get snagged

Definitely doesn't cast as far as Kastmasters, but they are a economical alternative. The action in the water is good. They are worth having in any tackle box, especially since it is cheap.

Update: Caught a 15 inch Brown Trout on the blue and chrome Kastaway (1/8). Works and is cheap enough that I'm not scared to lose them which makes me fish more diverse areas of the water. My wallet and fish both like Kastaways.

Seem similar to my Kastmasters. I haven't used them enough to say whether the finish will hold up like the K brand. Bought these for smaller trout where I might snag and loose a more expensive lure. I sharpened the hooks but they seem ok when you get them. You might remove the split ring and tie directly to the lure with an open loop to see if that allows better free movement of the lure. I fish with 4 lb test.

these catch fish as well as the more expensive brand, at 1/3 the price. The blue paint chipped and there are probably some cheaper materials as far as hooks and connectors, but I change those out anyway. Excellent bargain, especially considering how often I snag and break off spoons... bargain prices are appreciated!

These are essentially the same lure as Kastmasters. They have a good wiggle and will catch all types of fish. I fish in Lake Michigan and that means I've caught perch, crappie, trout, and bass on this. Not quite as good as the original, but it makes up for it because of what you get for the low price.
