This was a gift for my husband because our original, 40 year old, electric knife bit the dust on Thanksgiving 2014. I selected this one based on the fact it got the highest ratings. My husband likes the weight and heft. I like the case in which to keep it and that it cleans up easily. I would give it an even higher rating but reviews expressed some concern over longevity, particularly when used only a few times each year. I expect it to last a decade or so but the jury is out.

Did not like this knife. There is nothing ergonomic about it! You do not squeeze the trigger like a traditional electric knife. You have to pull the trigger back towards the end of the knife where the power cord exits the body. With the larger girth of the knife body this is almost impossible to do. Your hand cramps, your finger gets tired and you stop cutting inadvertently as you try to work around difficult areas.

As far as longevity goes, I took possession of this knife the first of September 2013 and it lasted till about September 2014 with light use.

I ordered two of these knives for my children that couldn't be with us this Thanksgiving and we're both making their first turkey. One unit arrived after Thanksgiving even though the delivery was scheduled before Thanksgiving. The second unit died after several slices of turkey were cut. Probably both situations were the exception, but it was frustrating as a gift giver.
The plus side, Amazon does make it incredibly easy to make returns.

This knife was advertised to be 'the most powerful knife on the market'. I found the first time I used it, it would not easily cut through my home baked bread. I could feel the heat as it strained. I burned out two high end electric knifes over the course of a few years, and decided to go with this one. It is clearly inferior for slicing bread, and I honestly don't expect it to last long.

TERRIBLE KNIFE. I got it as a gift, and it's a horrible design. As others have noted, you don't press down on a button, like most electric knives. but must pull a HEAVY trigger backwards, which makes the LARGE knife slide back in your hand until it finally shuts off. You then slide it back into place, pull hard on the trigger again, and it slides back again, I even wrapped a towel around it for better traction and holding, and it still slid back.It might be okay if you're slicing angel-food cake, but it's WORTHLESS on meat and turkey.
