Bought this to try DIY dish detergent. Mix (1 cup) with borax (2 cups), washing soda (2 cups), and salt (1 cup). First load using a shot glass full came out fine. Also use to acidulate tomatoes when canning. Aka sour salt for table use or candy making. Good metal cleaner. 10 lb bag fills 5 quart jars, leaving a cup plus for my first batch of detergent.

I use this in the dishwasher to eliminate hard water spots, instead of using a rinse agent. I pour a half teaspoon of citric into a small juice bottle with 2 cups of water and shake. Then add to dispenser for rinse agent, then add a bit to powder dispenser, it will fizz; then add the remainder of liquid into the dishwasher and start dishwasher. This was suggested by another amazon customer and this has never failed to produce sparkling spot-free dishes and glasses. Also keeps in dishwasher clean.

We used to buy Lemi Shine for our dishwasher until I realized it was mainly Citric Acid and I could save myself some money by buying a bulk size bag of this and replacing the usual $3.78 container from walmart with this product. This particular was the cheapest I could find and it works great in the dishwasher for keeping everything sparkly clean! Highly recommend this route over purchasing a dishwashing aide!

It's pure food grade citric acid in a plastic bag; there isn't much more to say about it.
The bag is thick plastic and has a resealable top. (The resealable top is similar to the resealable freezer bags or sandwich bags where the two plastic strips line up together. It's not the greatest, but it's something.)
However, I also roll the top down and pin it with a clothes pin to prevent moisture from entering the bag.
I mostly use citric acid as a additive in my dishwasher to prevent hard water stains. Since this is a large bag and I use a little bit everyday, I transfer some of it into a smaller plastic container. This makes it easier for me to only scoop out a small amount.
