Good size smoke buddy and better than the mini. This will filter more smoke and last longer. I would advise not using the cap that comes with it. Capping the ends will only keep moisture in and lower the smoke buddy's life span.

I've owned a couple of these and wanted to find a way to clean out the filter inside after it gets clogged. I tried opening one up with tools, but this is designed so you can't open it, it'll just break the plastic. That did show me how the inside is made with the carbon bag filter and the mesh air filter. That led me to experimenting on how to clean it out without opening it up, and I successfully did so with the following method:

Once you reach the point where it's hard to blow through, use that cap that comes with it, cap one end, fill up the smoke buddy with isopropyl alcohol, cap the other end, and shake it vigorously for a minute then let it sit and soak. It will probably leak out but keep the cap on and any residual isopropyl in there to clean out the resinous tar buildup inside. After 4-24 hours or however long you want it to soak, remove the caps and run hot water through it. You'll see the isopropyl and water will be all black and brown from the resin coming out. Shake it out good to get as much of the water out as you can, then blow out through the bottom end as hard as you can to push the water. Here's the quick but hard part: it won't fully dry out on its own because of the filters in it and it's design, so you can either do a bag of white rice (that didn't fully do the trick for me either) or put it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Any longer in the microwave and the plastic will melt though so be careful. If it still feels hard to blow through after this, let it completely cool off and repeat another 10 seconds in the microwave.

You do this and your smoke buddy will last 3-5 times as long. Happy smoking!

I love this product, it allowed me to smoke indoors and not bother my neighbors in my apartment complex.

update- if you place a dryer sheet in the chamber on the side you blow into the dryer sheet serves as a temporary filter to catch initial pieces of debris and smoke. this has extended the life and efficiency of this product greatly. once you have finished smoking replace the dryer sheet with a new one for best performance.

The smell still escapes but just stuff one to two frangrance dryer sheets inside and it masks the smell. That might make it harder to exhale out of the Smoke Buddy but most people who buy these are experience smokers. So most should be able to exhale with slow control. More odor-disguise points if you dampen the dryer sheets first.

I would be lost without my smoke buddy! Great to ease paranoia, and cover the smell of your smoke. Keep in mind this doesn't magically take the smell of smoke away. There is still the smoke that runs off into the air of your piece. My recommendation is to smoke with a towel under the door tightly. Use your smoke buddy and spray something when you are done. For the most part you can cover the smell of smoke. I am going to order another one. I have had 3 and love them!
