Warranty experience.
After several years of extensive use, the zipper on my Columbia jacket failed. I remembered they had a lifetime warranty, so I sent it back. A couple of weeks later I received back my jacket with a new zipper, no questions asked.

After another few years, one of the snaps failed. I again sent it back, expecting a replaced snap.

Instead, since parts were no longer available for my jacket, they sent me a new similar jacket.

In my experience, nobody stands behind a warranty better than Columbia does.

I was looking for something that was good enough for me sitting/standing outside (20 degrees F) for up to 30min. Portland Explorer is not made for this.
Very thin jacket with some kind of attempt at insulation that literally is colored like a silver/shiny emergency blanket. Inside of the coat is a bad color. I tried walking back and forth on my balcony to test it before I removed any tag. @ 25 degrees when its dark out and not windy, I was wearing long underwear, wool beanie and it got pretty cold after maybe 15min. Maybe it would work if I was walking with my backpack as I return from the grocery store but this is not warm enough for me - not too far from DC right now.

My husband absolutely loved this jacket, which I gave to him for Christmas. It is very warm while being relatively lightweight. We both like the fact that it has a splash of colour on it (green). So many mens coats are dark and depressing. Highly recommend this product.

I liked the jacket and it's features. It is not cut to fit an adult American male. The fit is for that of a teen or young adult. It was tight across the shoulders. The sleeves were very tight and I don't have big arms. Waist and chest were a perfect fit. I would have given it four or five stars.
