I purchased ten of these as replacements for my under counter lighting in my kitchen. To date, less than two months since installation, I have had seven (7) of the fail! Yes, that was seven out of ten. And the worst part is that three of them failed again, after replacement. So technically I've had ten fail so far.

I spoke with Customer Reations at Feit, the manufacturer and they said they had received no recalls or notices of failures. But come on, I can't be the only customer having this high rate of failure. And yes, in case you're wondering, I have checked my fixtures and they are providing the proper voltage so this is not a problem caused by the fixtures.

This rate of failure is amazing to me! How can a company sell something this unreliable??

DON'T BUY THESE!!!!!

I looked at these bulbs, the Norman G8 LED bulbs, www.amazon.com/Norman-08120-LED-G8-SHORT-120V-Replacement-Light/dp/B00PK6H818/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426081740&sr=8-1&keywords=norman+g8+led+bulb, and the Meridian 25W equivalent G8 DIMMABLE LED bulb from Home Depot. www.homedepot.com/p/Meridian-25W-Equivalent-Soft-White-3000K-G8-Dimmable-LED-Replacement-Light-Bulb-13132/205831698?keyword=meridian+g8+led+bulb
I decided to give the Meridian bulb a try since it is dimmable and it's shape looked like it would fit my kitchen cabinet puck lights better than the other 2. I ordered 1 from Home Depot and had it shipped to the store for free.
The bulb fit my puck light perfectly and they are dimmable. They are 3000K soft light so they are going to be bluer and whiter than halogen bulbs (see my pics). They have a 190 lumens rating at 2.25W. And if you have a Discover card and link to HD through DC's website you will get 5% cashback.

We purchased 13 of these bulbs to replace the original xenon bulbs in kitchen under-cabinet lighting a newly built home. It's been about seven months and two of these expensive, "13-year, 15,000 hours of life", bulbs have failed. They are not being dimmed. Hate to go back to the old bulbs because they throw so much heat that they warm the dishes in the cabinets above, and hate to spend $10.00 to replace the Feit LED bulbs. Also, the Feit Electric "if it fails" web site is not longer a valid site...is it because too many people are demanding replacements?

Great bulb and a nice white light, but it is very noisy. Buzzes like an old Fluorescent light. Very noticable and annoying.

The LED bulb needs redesign. The light output is very weak compared to the xenon bulb it replaced and it is too thick for the light fixture. I noticed the yellow cap over the led broke off a few days after installing. I had to throw it away and replace it with another xenon bulb.

It's only 20W equivalent (120 lumens) is the downside, but literally no one else is yet making these G8 bulbs in an LED 40W equivalent just yet, I've searched for several hours on many websites.

The light is also not as "warm" as I would like it, I wish it was 2700K instead of 3,000K. The light is sort of underwhelming, at 20w equivalent, and 3K, it definitely lacks the richer personality of the Xenon 40W bulbs. I suppose the difference between 2700K and 3000K is insignificant for more people, and a personal preference for others though.

Regarding CRI, Feit doesn't list that...which after hours of researching LED's means that they are unlikely 90+. Heck, for as dull as they make my granite & tile backsplash look, they may even be more like 70 CRI, I'm not sure. I've seen some other Feit products listed at 80, which is maybe what these are? Again, not ideal....

So, if you have G8's under kitchen counters or etc, and are tired of the high heat produced by normal bulbs, these are basically the only show in town currently, which means that I'll be keeping them even though the quality of the light produced is not 5 stars IMO.

You can try a Xenon bulb first if you want as they run slightly cooler than the halogen bulbs, but the Xenon's still put out quite a bit of heat (ie, if you keep a butter dish in the cabinet above the lights, your butter will be nice & soft, if not melted).

These LED's run cool, and save you juice...but the 20w's are definitely more dim & less accurate at reproducing the color of the items being lit, than the 40W Xenon's I was replacing. For me, the energy savings (10 of these in my kitchen is 20W total vs 400W w/ Xenon's), since I don't have to be anal about turning off the accent lights, and cooler temps were an acceptable trade off.

Feit if you are listening, we are eagerly awaiting 40W (~240 lumens) 90+ CRI G8 Bulbs! (and 2700 if possible!) :)

Bought this bulb to investigate replacing 20W Xenon bulbs in multiple under cabinet puck lights. LED replacement barely fit into the base and fixture, the heat sink and wedge are extremely tight and length of bulb means feeding bulb at an angle before fully seated, putting lot of stress on connections.

Loud harsh buzz noise from bulb when switched on. Tried in different fixtures from different plug in with same result. As was an experiment had this in a single puck with original Xenon bulbs in remainder of fixtures on same switch / power line. Possible might be less noise with all LED bulbs on one line, but did not want to fork out all the money to find out.

Also if this has 5 yr life (8 hrs day) then why only a 2 year warranty?
