These candies are great for portable Kava usage. I'm personally not a fan of the taste of Kava, but I don't mind these candies at all. Besides using capsules, these are a great, convenient way to take Kava. One of the only reasons I don't like using them a lot is because they contain Sucralose, an artificial sweetener. They work almost immediately and can last about 3-4 hours. I usually take 1-2 depending on the feeling I am looking for. The main psychoactive ingredients are:

Kava Extract - Works on GABA receptors which can help with anxiety disorders and can possibly help with depression. It can also be beneficial for people with sleeping issues. Kava also works on Dopamine receptors which can help with overall sense of well-being and can also be a mood-booster.

Chamomile - Binds to GABA receptors and because of this, it actually has a synergy with Kava. Chamomile also has anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-spasmodic and other types of effects on the body. Some evidence shows that Chamomile can be useful for anxiety, stress, and insomnia.

Lemon Balm - Comes from the Melissa Officinalis plant and is used as an anxiolytic and a mild sedative. It it used for stress by some people and studies have shown that Lemon Balm can improve mood and mental performance. It also works on GABA, however in a different way than Chamomile and Kava. Since all three compounds work on GABA, they all have a synergy together making the product work better.

I hope this helps some of you! If you are new to Kava and the candies didn't work for you, I would recommend trying Kava Extract capsules. You can get a stronger dose of Kava, and you won't taste the Kava at all. However, many products will contain the Kava Extract only, without the Chamomile and Lemon Balm.

I suffer from general and social anxiety disorder so I'm no stranger to stress, panic attacks, seclusion, and worry filled sleepless nights. I have found great relief from all of these things in kava kava root and have tried many different forms.

Kava candys are officially the most convenient and tasty way to consume kava root. Which are two things kava normally is not. Traditional methods are time consuming and taste/ texture aren't desirable. Kava candy I just pop to out, let them disolve under my tongue, I feel calm within ten minutes, and actually like the citrus orange flavor.

I was amazed at how enjoyable these candys were and ended up ordering a whole case. I only use them when needed so they last and are practical on the pocket. Never had any digestive issues with any of the sugar alcohols even after using a full sleeve in a very stressful 24 hr period, but I'm also not sensitive to those types of ingredients.

These are great for a stressful day at work. Very discreet and always take the edge off. A few pieces will help me to focus on tasks when personal issues are being to distractive. Much more effective than capsule extracts because they are sublingual, from a noble kava strain, and the addition of lemon balm rounds the experience out nicely.

Has a decent taste, orange isn't my favorite, but it's not too bad. You can taste the kava about halfway through the candy, which is actually more like a lozenge, since you melt it in your mouth. The effect is pretty immediate, and lasts for about 2 hours. You feel calm, your mind is very clear, and you aren't worried about things that get to you for awhile. May make a shorter or thinner person (not me) slightly sleepy. Very nice supplement. Be sure to check with your doctor, or at least check the Drugs.com drug interaction checker before taking this, if you're on any medications, seeing as kava can hurt the liver. Be aware of what you're taking.

These came with the standered shipping in two days and very professionally packaged. I was feeling a little anxiety one day so I took one, to start off these taste really bad, but not unmanageably. Within 5 minutes my whole body felt numb and I felt very easy, I layed down on the bed and really didn't want to move. My mental state was still mostly the same but my body felt very calm and easy. These ease my anxiety a little but mostly just calm down my body and make me feel chill. They also make my tongue feel numb which is a plus.I would not recommend these for serious in anxiety but they are great for unwinding after a long day.

These candies made me feel very sick so I can't speak to their stress relieving ability. I don't normally have a sensitive stomach--in fact, I have somewhat of and iron stomach. I eat everything and have never had trouble with digesting certain foods. At first I didn't realize my nausea was related to the candy but I have tried it on three separate occasions now and each time I was stricken with all-night-long bouts of unrelenting nausea. I will not be eating these any more. So much for stress relief :/

I really wanted to like this, but it just didn't work out for me. I'll caveat this up front by noting that different substances have different effects on different people - your experience is not going to line up with mine.

Cons:
* the taste will probably be a complete show stopper for most people. I can choke down a lot of awful tasting things, but this is a fairly hard, chalky candy that takes a while to chew up and swallow. It's bitter and leaves an after-taste.
* Effectiveness. One did nothing. Two did nothing. I had more luck with a Kava tea, which had a mild calming effect. I saw another review where they said they tried 8. I didn't bother with that test as not only would it cost $4, but I'd have to endure a lot more of that flavor.

Pros:
* price. At $0.50 per candy, this is a good deal or at least would be if it worked even a bit. Certainly cheaper than drugs or alcohol and without the longer-lasting negative effects!
