I love this! It folds up to be a little bit bigger than a regular sheet of paper. Once folded, it fits in most of my cargo pants pockets. My pen is a bit thicker so it doesn't fit very well in the clip. My nurse brain sheet is landscaped so the notches in the middle sorta gets in the way. Guess I'll have to redo my sheet and make it portrait style.

I'm able to have a hard surface to write on, cover my patients Info, and don't have to worry about leaving in a room--- just fold it up and stick it in my pocket. I love the handy info sheets too. Totally worth it.

I purchased this to use to store my paperwork during my BSN-Nursing Clinical rotation, in a Pediatric Medical-Surgical environment. Therefore, I used this in a fast-paced environment, with 4-6 patients to care for. In the past, I had used a standard clipboard. I did not like this because I found that when I was very busy, I would set it down in one patients room, and not have it on me for my other patient. As this is not good for HIPPA, or for me, I started carrying my paperwork by itself in my pocket. A friend of mine had purchased this item, and I liked it because her paperwork stayed clean, and it was smaller than a typical clipboard. It fit into her pocket, and I liked the idea of that, so I decided to try it too.
I liked this product for it's durability and compact-ability. It allowed my to keep my paperwork clean, and wrinkle-free, and more organized. What I did not like, was that it did not slip into my scrub pockets easily, and this was frustrating when I was busy and had to fumble to get it back into my pocket- but this is a minor detail. If you purchased scrubs with larger pockets, or prefer to carry your in your clipboard in your hand anyways, this would not be an issue at all.
This product also has some minor assessment and intervention information printed on the outside. This includes: injection sites, needle gauge/length for different types of tissues/sites, EKG standard ranges and indications of cardiac disease states, auscultation points for cardiac auscultation, normal lab values for common blood serum tests, ABG ranges, differentiating metabolic acidosis/alkalosis from respiratory acidosis/alkalosis, pupil size gauge, a measuring ruler in both cm and inches, and the Faces pain scale.Read more ›

This clipboard is pricey, but worth it. I've been using mine for a few weeks now. I'm a float nurse so versatility and flexibility are my bag. This clipboard matches my style. In the past, I always used a plain plastic clipboard and they seem to break after about a year. My last one shattered shortly after I learned about Whitecoat Clipbpoards. I took the plunge and I haven't looked back. This metal clipboard is sturdy and seems like it will last for a few years, at least. The infographics are well designed and informative, even an experienced nurse can find something useful to reference. New nurses will appreciate them more. It is lightweight. Folding keeps patient information private and allows the entire clipboard to fit into the pocket of a scrub top. I like to stick my pencil inside it while it's folded so it's right there when I need to write instead of having to dig it out of my pocket containing numerous other writing implements. This thing gets compliments and questions from other nurses on every floor I work on. The only thing that I will mention that may be a problem for some is that if you write on your report papers in a landscape fashion, you may have a problem. The hinge part is raised and could get in the way of your writing style. If your papers are in a portrait format, you won't have a problem with the raised edge. Nurses who like to use their clipboard like a suitcase will also be disapointed. This is good for carrying papers and a writing utensil only.

If you've been buying a plastic clipboard every year, upgrade. We spend enough time at work that this little luxury is deserved. If you need a gift for a nurse or a nursing student in your life, give them this.

PROS: This clipboard is very practical and super sturdy. I wish I would've bought it long ago. I'm able to carry my papers with me everywhere and keep them organized vs just folding and stuffing in my pocket (by the end of shift everything would be mooshed or MIA). The clipboard fits right in my cargo pocket, I haven't tried my shirt's pockets but they're smaller. I'm able to keep pt's information confidential by folding it closed vs carrying a regular clipboard and having to turn face down. I ordered it in Lilac and get compliments about it at work. I can use it as a tray to carry meds for my pt's. Received it quickly w/Amazon Prime.
CONS: The pupil gauge is not accurate so I don't use it (I taped a better diagram on the inside of the clipboard). Material is metal which makes it a tad heavy inside the pocket. I wish they had more colors available to be able to tell them apart from other nurses with same clipboards. The price WOOOOOEEEYY! I paid $30 something here on Amazon, but can't find it anywhere for less than $35, retail price is $50 something.
