Delivering comfort and athletic style in equal measure, this men's walking shoe has a durable synthetic leather upper topped with overlay details; a padded tongue and collar protects the top of the foot when you lace up for a snug fit. The cushioned footbed and compression-molded EVA midsole are backed up by signature GEL� to protect the rearfoot on heel strike. Beveled for a natural stride, the ASICS� GEL-Quickwalk� 2 SL walking shoe has an AHAR�-enhanced rubber outsole for durability as you rack up the miles.

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

    I have worn Onitsuka Tiger/Asics since 1968, discovering them to be the best running shoe by far. I have never had any arch or foot issues with Asics, though I did with Nike. These walking shoes fit the narrow or medium width foot perfectly and are very comfortable. I wore these over cobblestones and had no problems at all. This design is also excellent for situations where roadways or paths are wet. While more expensive than some Asics I have purchased, I am very happy with them!

    I purchased these as a back up really. I am SO glad I did. I ended up wearing these all day over a 5 day trip. I needed (black) shoes I could wear in late fall and in rain. I needed to be able to wear them constantly (I can't walk without shoes, sorry - feet won't allow it) - so, comfort & support was a must. And that's exactly what I got - a shoe I wore for between 14-20 hours a day, on planes, walking 10 miles a day (inside & out) and driving. No complaints - which, for me, when it comes to shoes and feet - is the ultimate praise.

    First of all, the soles and the comfort of the shoes is very good. I have worn them for a few days now and they are not making my feet tired or leaving them sore in any way. I'm on my feet a lot so I would notice quickly if they were not in my comfort zone. The shoes have a plastic look to them that I'm not really fond of at the moment. They seem to be warmer than a real leather shoe, and the synthetic leather breaks / bends oddly at the forefoot. However, the synthetic leather resists moisture / rain, and they are considerably lighter than most walking shoes I've tried. They do not make any sound, as I read in some other reviews, so the choice of socks could be a factor but so far not an issue at all. The shoe is fairly attractive, other than the plastic look. They remind me of shoes you would see a referee wear in a basketball game. Only time will tell how they hold up, but at the moment, I'm ok with the purchase. Once again, they do feel great on my feet and they have a good cushion to the waking step.

    I bought these 3 sizes larger than my regular shoes, something I do with all exercise shoes. These were somewhat snug and took a week to grow into. The first few days, I would not wear them for any long period of time.

    Now they are fine and comfortable.

    Immediate comfort, as is typical with ASICs products would get them 4 stars.

    I have been wearing ASICS for years. They are great shoes. I have flat feet so I always have to add an insert to my shoes, any shoe. That means I am not a good judge as to whether a shoe would provide good arch support for a normal foot. But I do love ASICS and this walking shoe is no exception. They are great.

    Felt somewhat narrow and I'm a true D. These plain black shoes, although they make me look like a bus boy, are comfortable to walk in and after a few days they have stretched and widened enough that the fit is ok.

    Great shoe for the price. Sole hasn't come off yet as some people have reviewed, which is sad for them. Wore them for 8 days straight and haven't had any issues yet. They are pretty comfortable and look cool. One thing is that you have to clean them constantly since the black gets dirty quick.
