My 16 year old loves these shoes for wrestling, he says they fit perfect and they do not make him slip.

The wrestling-specific I.G. S.� technology ensures efficient footwork on the mat, while the a breathable mesh upper with Flexion Fit� forefoot wraps that provide support during lateral movements. The unique ventilation system of the ASICS� Omniflex-Attack� athletic shoe maintains a cool, dry environment by circulating air throughout the upper and the rubber outsole. The new speed rope lacing system will allow you adjust the laces with ease.

In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body."     After a little research I learned that these should be ordered 1/2 size larger than your foot, and that is correct. Asics Omniflex are the best-made wrestling shoes in my opinion... BUT... I consider these new Attacks a step down from the previous model, the Pursuits. The Pursuits were so ahead of their time, and still are, that any successor is going to be judged pretty harshly. The Attacks don't feel as high-quality in terms of material, and design-wise they are actually more conservative than their predecessor's. Still easily one of the best shoes out there, but they have me wondering if Asics has run out of ideas.

    At first my son said the fit seems somewhat small, and he thought that maybe he should have gotten a 1/2 size larger. After wearing them to practice for a few hours, he said the fit was just fine. He's worn them several times since then, and he has had no complaints about the fit.     normally most 8.5 size shoes fits me fine sometimes 9, but with these i ordered at least 1 size bigger 9.5 and they still fit like a glove with no room to spare. Which is fine wrestling shoes are suppose to feel tight for better performance. The problem is the inner sole of these shoes hugs your feet like a sock n they are quite thin, the tightness feel like your feets about to rip the soles apart. So don't be afraid to go a full size bigger or maybe even 1 & a half bigger if you want some breathing room. comfort wise they are good, light flexible and breathable. Its got a minimal ground feel and the bottom is not flat, feels a bit arched.

    I bought these mainly to use while weight lifting. After reading previous reviews I decided to go up a half size. I usually wear a 8.5 but ordered the 9. I'm glad I did. The length of the shoe is just right for me a the size 9, initially they were pretty narrow but as I've worn them they've stretched out a bit. The shoe does come to a narrow point in the front. Hopefully they continue to stretch out. I am satisfied with the purchase and will continue to wear them during my workouts.

    I ordered a size 9 as that is usually what size I wear in Asics wrestling shoes and they ended up being alittle snug but wearable I would recommend ordering a size up other than that they are tough and breathable although they take more break in than the omniflex pursuit.
