I gave this to a young man turning 4 years old. The box says for ages 5 and up. He needed a little help from Dad but he loved it. His older brother who is 9 years old also enjoys building different things with it. Highly recommended for children who like to build things.

When I saw these motorized gears at a discount in exchange for an honest/unbiased review, I immediately knew this would be a perfect gift for my son and his 2 little boys! My son prefers more educational and creative toys for the boys, and he enjoys getting down and playing with them... They have always enjoyed the motorized leg projects, and this is along the same line of creative play. There are many ways to set these gears up for endless hours of fun.

The motor broke the second we turned it on. The gears are all plastic (opposed to looking like brushed metal from the photos online or or the box online). I never returned it because my son still loves the gears. But what's a Mogee without a motor? We tried new batteries..must have gotten a defective unit.

We were really impressed with how much our 4 yr old loves this. The gears moving really interests him and he'll play with it forever just putting the gears on and making them work, then taking them off and changing them around. He and dad made a 3d train out of them even. The motor can't turn ALL of the gears at once (which there are a ton of), but it likely wasn't designed to do that. We may buy another set to add on to what we've got. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.
