We purchased this item to remove humidity from our eletronics equipment area for a commercial operations. Upon arrival, the item did not work. The internal pump was somehow loose within the enclosure, and there is a simple float valve that regulates the pumping. When dislodged, the system was smart enough to realize it wasnt supposed to operate.
Once we reseated the pump in the proper spot, the humidifier worked great. We saw much water being extracted and pumped out... initially. For whatever engineering/design bonehead decision, the legs (where the screws fixate within the enclosure, surfaced by little rubber non-skid "feet") are hollow, straight down to whatever is beneath the humidifier. I have several times walked into our electronics room, and seen a large puddle of water - that the humidifier did successfully extract moisture from the air, and leaked it directly to the floor.
I now only turn this thing on in emergencies, for short periods of time, with a towel underneath it.
This thing is expensive, and I want to share my experience.
