    I've been using Headsweats for 12 years.

    I first used it when riding my bicycle across the USA in 2000. I had two problems that I was trying to address:
    - I was getting sunburned through the holes in my bike helmet, and
    - I was getting tired of having sweat drip into my eyes

    A web search found the Headsweats folks. I called up the owner in Cincinnati and his product seemed like exactly what I needed. I immediately ordered three of them and had them shipped to me mid-tour. I was absolutely delighted by the performance of these things. Ever since, I've had no problem whatsoever with either of the above issues.

    The Cool-Max sweatband built into the thing is quite effective in absorbing sweat.

    While I originally used the "classic" version, I've since upgraded to the "shorty" version. The classic version sort of had an open back with three floppy pieces that were intended to be tied at the back of your head. That felt uncomfortable inside my helmet -- so I never tied them. The problem with the classic version was that when you take the helmet off, the untied floppy things would flop around in the wind -- sometimes flopping over my head and onto my face -- awkward. The shorty version fixes that drawback, while keeping the same high performance of the original.

    I wish I had known about this product like 10 years ago. I started using the head-sweats since last year and love it. The head-sweats is always soaking wet after each MTB ride but it help prevent sweats from dripping to my eye and importantly, helmet stay almost dry. For someone who sweat so much during mountain biking ride, this is a must have. I normally support local shop for bicycle gear and attire but Amazon has more color options.

    I got it for two reasons: 1) To prevent sunburn to the top of my head; bicycle helmets have a lot of holes! 2) To keep my helmet drier and keep some of the sweat from dripping into my eyes and running down my face. It does both jobs, though if it just did the first job that'd be sufficient. I can't judge if I feel cooler with it on as some have claimed but it doesn't feel hotter.

    Be advised that this cap will fit a medium to extra-large head; if your head is small, it'll be too big. I wear 71/4 or 7 3/8 hats and it fits fine. It might be worth 5 stars if it stands up to frequent usage. TBD

    Whenever I buy them I always think "How can this cost so much" which is why I give it three stars, otherwise it's great.

    I use this to keep the sweat from rolling into my eyes and from getting a sunburn through my bike helmet. As a bald guy this will happen without something to help. It gets the job done and I wouldn't go out without a Headsweat. These also last and hold up to washing in a machine.

    The Headsweats Shorty Beanie is an easy alternative to wearing a baseball cap to keep sweat out of your eyes. The inner band absorbs sweat and evaporates quickly. I find it much better than a head scarf. No folding and knotting, just put it on. Would purchase another.

    I've had this hat for 6 months and I wear it on every ride under my helmet. It's extremely lightweight, it wicks away all sweat, and it protects my bald head from the sun. The fit is perfect. It's not too loose and not too tight. My head/hat/helmet measurements are 58 ½ cm. I also have the Headsweats Spin Cycle hat which is nice but I don't often wear it because it's just not as comfortable as the Shorty Beanie and I've gotten used to not having a visor on my helmet. I also tried the Halo skullcap and it's a nice product but the fabric is too heavy for use here during the summer in SW Florida where it's extremely hot and humid. The Halo would be nice for winter though. The Headsweats Beanie does provide some warmth during cold weather but it's so light you can still feel the cold air whipping through. I like this hat so much that I've since bought another Headsweats classic as a backup. To me it's essential piece of cycling equipment.

    I thought the description on this item indicated a smaller cap, but it was actually too big. The cap comes down over the ears, which is not what I was looking for. However, the material and construction is good. And, I should add that, my head is not a small head.
