I have been experiencing trouble to sleep for over a year, I can't fall asleep for hours or if something wakes me up I can't go back to sleep, this has brought me a lot of trouble in many areas. Anyway... I didn't want to buy something hardcore or have my doctor prescribe something that would be too much and hard to stop taking. I have done a lot of research and I bought this bottle of Melatonin, I took 10 mg the first night and I definitely fetlt sleepy within 30 minutes, I was so ready to fall asleep. I went to bed and sadly woke up 3 hours after totally ready to go :(

Next night I upped the dose to 20 mg (Being that I read this can be used from .01 mg up to even 300 mg safely) anyway, I fell asleep within 30 minutes, I was watching a movie and all I remember is me turning it off and turning around, I slept ALL NIGHT and woke up in a great mood, it was a bit hard to get out of bed even, but my mood was excellent all day. Next night I repeated 20 mg and again, I was out within 30 minutes, woke up 8 hours later feeling brand new, I mean, I haven't slept like this for over a year I even forgot what it was like!

I have been on it for 5 days, I sleep great every night however I noticed I have been having very vivid dreams (I haven't had dreams in forever) and I actually like it. Overall I am very satisfied, this definitely works, this is a hormone and for some reason the US is the only country in which Melatonin is not regulated at all. This is prescription medicine in other countries. Also, I have read in several articles this might not be very good for little kids, no side effects have been recorded but a Dr. from europe said this could affect kids after several years, as a hormone, this could potentially affect sexual maturity apparently. Use with caution when giving it to kids.

Wonderful to have only one capsule to get my 10mg rather than downing 3 (3mg) capsules. This stuff is amazing and I've been taking it for several years now. I highly recommend it because as we age we tend to lose melatonin. It's a bit like any other hormone, we lose as we grow older... so supplementing is desired. I sleep ever so much better and tell anyone who will listen about how this stuff works.

This is a pretty big dose of melatonin. I find that the blue light from a bedroom television and other electronic gadget screens does indeed interfere with onset of sleep (blue light decreases melatonin production). This 10 mg dose of melatonin is surprisingly effective! I begin to yawn within about 20 minutes of taking it and am usually asleep within 30-40 minutes after taking it.

These are great as an add-on to prescription sedatives when you really need to sleep through the morning (my psychiatrist approves and endorses their use alongside prescriptions). Having tried these at a 5mg dose and thinking nothing happened, I upped to this 10mg dose. This dose really makes me very very groggy for a long time after I take them (like 10 hours). They do not seem to "knock me down" and make me sleepy before my prescription sedatives kick in (in 30 minutes), but I REMAIN asleep for a long long time with the addition of these (I think they do not work for at least an hour after you take them). I take them at 11pm or midnight, and I feel groggy until after noon the next day. So, when you have the time to sleep in, don't mind feeling groggy, have access to lots of coffee, and really need to be unconscious, these are great for catching up on much needed rest, but don't take them and expect to be able to get up for work the next morning! I take them in combination with two prescription sedatives, so I can't say for sure they don't make me sleepy, but they do not seem to work before the prescriptions do. I would wake up after only 7 hours of sleep on two heavy prescription sedatives, but NOT on the nights I take these with them! I sleep til noon, 1pm, 2pm. Like 9-11 hours of good restful sleep. I find them an excellent tool to add to the medicine cabinet. I suspect if I could remember to take them in the evening about 2 hours before bed, I might even not need as many sedatives, but I can't remember to take them then, so I just pop them with the nighttime sedatives. (might make normal people sleepy, I'm not normal, so your results may vary)

I've been a fan of Melatonin for a while, and used only 3mg, and that was enough to give me a good night sleep. But once i ran out someone recommended this. So i gave it a try and man does it put you out. You get knocked out and you stay knocked out for a good 7-8 hours.

The only reason i gave this 4 stars, and it's not the companys fault... When you wake up you feel groggy and derp.
