I swear that Gate Valves are born to leak, their only claim to fame is there is no pressure drop across the valve. Now, Ball Valves, because of the way they are built, do not leak and there is no pressure drop across the valve when wide open. The switch from Gate Valves to Ball Valves in our Plant was a "No Brainer". We switched to SS bodied Ball Valves when there was a corrosion problem, otherwise brass bodied valves were more than adequate.

It should be noted that the valve pictured is no what I received. The valve I have does not have the sliding piece on the lever near the nut. This effectively prevents the valve from being opened or closed accidentally. That said, I do not see that it will be a problem with accidental movement because it is so tight that I cannot even move it. I loosened the nut and that didn't do anything. Unfortunately, I have to return this item as it is a dud. Unless I am missing something here, I cannot see how this is supposed to turn at all. I submitted a couple of photos to reflect the item pictured is not quite what I got.

Update: I attempted to return the product to Duda Energy and they declined without me paying a 15% restocking fee. AVOID THIS SELLER AT ALL COSTS. The seller wants me to believe that excessive force is necessary with these valves. Well, I own two others and that is a lie. Not to mention this item isn't as pictured, but yet the seller maintains these valves are tight. I took it in to have it looked at by a local home brew supply shop and they said it was stuck. They said to return it and get a Nother because this fell does not function the way that should. So now I'm stuck with a valve that doesn't work and a piss poor seller who couldn't care less. They aren't worth my time to return for a 15% restocking fee either.

I have three of these on my home brewing rig (one on the brew kettle, one on the pump, and one on the water side of the counter flow chiller). I was expecting to pay more, and did in fact see many competitor valves that cost twice a s much or more. These valves are good quality and a great value. I have run 5 batches through my new system and these valves are performing flawlessly. No leaks and they open and close smoothly. If you are in the market for valves, I highly recommend these!

I ordered 2 of these valves to do two cooler HLT and MLT conversions. They arrived as stated and in a timely fashion. The handles are easy to open and close and the valves come with the locking pins attached so there won't be any accidental opening or closing of the valves. At $7.99 each they are simply unbeatable, so much so that I'm ordering another one for my brew kettle conversion. Thanks for the great product.

Used in homebrew application with near zero pressure. Valve operation is firm but not too tight, and is right on par with valves from other sources. I like the locking slide ring to prevent accidental opening from being bumped. The machining and threads were good quality and I would order again without hesitation.. I have ordered 2 to date

I make a lot of beer(20 gallons a week for personal use). This is the valve I use for all my transfers. It has never stuck on me it is incredibly easy to clean. It has a safety locking device so no one can bump it open. It's a good valve

What I expected at a great price. Beats paying $30+ for the same thing that's just has some o rings and hardware worth 7-10 more. I've already converted a plain 20gal pot into a brew kettle and save $100 in the process by drilling the holes myself and buying the parts separately. 304 SS. WORTH IT
