I used one from the Starter Kit and found that it's better to use towes from IKEA for 40c each (KRAMA
Washcloth, white $3.99/10 pack). They are washable and have no smell.
Life-hack: You can use any old towel in your house. Just cut it to size.

Thanks for sharing your detailed review. I will share your comments with the rest of the team. I'm sorry that our Swiffer Steamboost Steampad Refills didn't work well for you. We would like to better understand how we could improve them to better fit your needs.
Unfortunately, we can't recommend using other pads that are not designed specifically for this product. These Steamboost pads are a lightly pre-moistened mopping cloth to be used on the Swiffer Bissell Steamboost appliance. the steam activates the pads and lets you power through even the toughest messes and leaves a fresh scent behind. I have to use 3 pads just for my small kitchen.Then I need to polish with Pledge for wood floors. If you are buying this for laminate, fine, not so good for real wood floors. Oh, if I could just find something that works!

We are so sorry to hear about the process you are going through to clean your floors. That isn't what we would expect and neither should you. Our Swiffer Steamboost Steampads are safe on virtually all floor types, including finished wood. We don't recommend using them on unfinished, oiled, or waxed wooden boards, non-sealed tiles or carpeted floors because they may be water sensitive.
If you have the type of floor that is ok to use these on, here are a few tips that may help you get the most out of them:
-If your floor is brand new, it may have a special coating to protect during shipping, and this can cause streaking. It can also happen if other cleaning products have been used recently as some do leave a shine effect on it. If this is the case, using the products a few more times should solve the problem.
-Sweep or vacuum the floor first; then use the Swiffer Steamboost. In areas with more dirty or sticky residues on the floor exist, 2 to 3 mopping strokes may be needed to clean the area.
-Don't use this on unfinished, oiled or waxed wooden boards, non-sealed tiles or carpeted floors because they may be water-sensitive.
If you have tried all of the above and still have a problem, please let me know. We won't stop until you are 100% in love with your Swiffer purchases! ~Rose
