Used these to replace the two 23 year old homebrite gold label HB-240-TP ballasts that had failed in my kitchen light fixture. The new ballasts are smaller so new mounting holes were drilled and different screws used. Once installed, the F40T12 lamps powered up instantly and were nice and bright. Time will tell if they last but so far so good. Great deal for the price and no worries that this ballast is going to be too big and not fit. One ballast powers two F40T12 or F36T8 lamps. Hope this helps.

Ordered 2 of the Robertson 3P20132 Fluorescent eBallast for my two shop fluorescent lights. Each contains two F40T12 linear lamps. Installation involved some difficulty since each these are a little smaller than the ballasts I replaced, but the price was great and after getting all the wires connected, and with the flip of the switch, each light came on instantly. The old ballasts had both given out. For brand new these work great. I am ordering two more for my other lights, they are beginning to slow down. Amazon has a great package deal for an order of ten.

I had three ballasts go out in three fixtures at the same time. I researched and found these. The specs say they are good for dual T8 and t12 lights. I have T12. Thee original ballasts were larger so I had to retrofit a little (one small metal screw to hold the free end that did not reach the original fitting). Once in and wired the same as the original, no problem. Lights came on without an issue. I assume I could now go to T8 and save about 16 watts per fixture since it is rated for either.

The small size means it will always fit but most fixtures require drilling a new mounting hole for the screw. The wires are longer than another ballast replacement I bought previously. No wire splicing required as they reach all the way to the lamp connectors. The preheat design should extend the life of the bulbs compared to a standard rapid start ballasts available at big box stores and many electrical suppliers. I have replaced 3 fixture ballasts so far and they work well. Ballast choices seem to be disappearing at retail outlets, so I bought a 10 pack to replace ballasts in 14 4-ft fixtures plus 10 more in a second location. Should last me for several years as they progressively fail. Life time of these ballasts is unknown to me, but they certainly cure the starting problems I have been having. New bulbs did not solve the starting problems. The old ballasts were about 25 years old.

Quick start and completely silent. This is a great replacement for an old magnetic ballast. You will need the smallest available wire nuts for the lamp connections; I used Commercial Electric 494669 (blue) from my local orange-themed big box home improvement retailer. On my fixture the wire colors matched those of the new ballast.

Note that it is about 1/2" shorter than an old style ballast so you may need to drill new holes to mount it.

I have a lot of T12 bulbs so I opted to get these T12 ballasts instead of converting to T8s. I received my ballasts from Amazon today and I replaced them in the two light fixtures that had buzzing and flickering lights. I moved the location of the ballast so the wires reached all four light receptacles. To do this I had to drill two small holes into the top of the fixture to use to screw the ballast down. Since two of the receptacles had a short jumper wire to each other, I removed those two receptacles and pulled the wires out of the wire holes and pushed the new wires directly into the wire holes without using wire nuts. Two red wires to one, two blue wires to the other and snapped the receptacles back into their place. The two yellow wires attach to the opposite side and those I connected using wire nuts. The the black wire goes to the power wire and the white wire to the switch wire.
Upon testing, the lights go on immediately with no flicker and there is no noise what so ever. The lights are as bright as ever. Great!
The fixtures I have are the diamond plate light fixtures from Home Depot, they are 8 years old. The picture shows the two old ballasts, the extra wire that was removed and two of the new ballasts (I purchased four of them altogether) and of course the finished lights. :-)
I will update my review if anything goes wrong with my ballasts.

Excellent performance, and half the size and weight of the older ballasts they replaced. Used these to replace two ballasts (4 light tubes total, 2 lights per ballast) on a 25 year old fixture, on which one pair of lamps were flickering and the other pair did not light at all. With this ballast, everything worked perfectly, and I suspect more efficiently, as these are 'electronic' ballasts, not just the older style transformer. Hence the lighter weight and smaller size.

My kitchen lamp had been acting a little funky for quite a while, sometimes taking a LONG time to turn on, bringing me start suspecting the ballast. Recently it wouldn't turn on at ALL - and, after two trips to the local hardware store that USED to have all the answers, I still didn't have any. The nice old guy that'd tried to help me DID provide SOME help though - with the use of some Windex and some lighted magnifiers, he was able to pick out some of the words on the blackened ballast label. With that information, I slipped out, went home, used my more powerful lighted magnifier to decipher the rest of the label including the part number (HP-240-TP), Googled that, and found:

1) The ballast was likely original equipment, hence about 40 years old,
2) Homebrite was LONG out of business,
3) Someone had actually sold a working 35 year old one on eBay,
4) I couldn't find any useable replacement charts, and
5) A very helpful review on Amazon.com by another poster with a very positive review of these ballasts.

I Bought two of these, one for backup (probably overkill since I'll probably be long gone before I need another one), just finished wiring one in - and it works perfectly. Even though these ballasts are much smaller, I didn't even have to do any drilling or other modifications as my lamp uses a stud on one end and a slip-in clip on the other - which engaged the ballast enough to properly secure it.
