This is a great bag. I bought it 3 years ago for my oldest son to hold all of his sheet music and lesson books for piano. It is still in great shape. The zippers are sturdy and never catch on anything. The organizer pockets are big and helpful. It unzipps fully if you need it to. The carrying strap is strong and adjustable. No sign of wear. I am now ordering a second bag for my youngest son as he is now learning piano as well.

I read all the reviews and they all talk about transporting sheet music and books, but my question was whether it would hold one (or more) full size concert folders. And! The answer is....<cue drum roll> Not quite. If you insert the folder spine first into the case, there's about 3/4" still exposed. It appears that, depending on how "phatt" your folders are, it should hold two or three if need be, but it won't zip closed even with a single folder inside. For my single folder + cased stand light it'll work for me. If you're going to use it for valve oil, tuning slide grease, extra mouthpieces, tuners, metronomes and the like, put all that stuff in a small bag, then put the bag into this case. There are no sub-compartments inside or out that will keep all that stuff from rattling around.

The bag appears to be well made, just don't stuff it so it bulges.

I got this bag as a Christmas gift in 2007. It has proved invaluable. It is sturdy, relatively weatherproof, and durable. The handles, strap, and zippers are strong and well attached. The inside pockets are great for loose papers and thin books. I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone who needs to carry music around.

It's cheap, and a good buy from Amazon--as it's only a hair's breadth from free shipping. It does the job it's designed to do somewhat better than an old briefcase or lap top bag. I'm happy with it, as I have a lot of different music folders to carry around. Might be a bit too small for a conductor on the move. But for an instrumentalist or pianist, it ought to hold anything you'd need for a long recital or rehearsal--or two in my case.

BTW I used to carry my folders in the outside compartment of my Protec Xtreme sax case. But it made the bloody package too heavy. A light instrument case, and this separate bag make an easier carry for my old bones

This bag works really well for transporting scores or parts to a gig. The strap is wide and comfortable, the bag is lightweight, water-resistant and durable. I got one as a Christmas present last year and will ask for another this year, too!

Excellent structure and shape. It certainly will be used over and over again and should withstand most weather conditions. It is suitable to be carried in all situations, both professionally or dressed-down sessions. I would highly recommend this bag, not only for quality, but also for durability as well as eye appeal.

My daughter was reaching the point where she simply had too much music to manage by carrying it by herself. So I read the reviews and ordered this portfolio bag. All I can say is, I wish that something like this had been available to me 30-plus years ago when I was lugging my music around, because life would have been a lot easier.

The fact that it unzips fully, allowing the two halves to lie flat on a surface, is a godsend. All of her orchestra folders fit inside the bag without any problems. Out of curiosity, I loaded it up with 7 or 8 of my old etude books & a few other pieces of music, and it still felt pretty comfortable to carry. It is sturdy and well-constructed, and should last easily for several years. I highly recommend this!

I have mixed feelings about this bag. It holds enough music, but not a lot, and keeps it flat and dry. It has a nice strap so you can put the instrument on one shoulder and the music on the other. You cannot fit a folder in it, so you take the music out at rehearsal or gig, and prop it on the stand, without a folder. It would be perfect if you could fit a folder in it! It's well made, and I kept it. I also looked at and bought the small version of the Note Tote bag on line, which works like a music folder and a zippered carry bag. Unfortunately, the rehearsal stand lip is too shallow for the bag, which opens out like a music folder, and I still have to remove the music and put it on the stand, so it only partially solved the problem. I keep the band music in the Note Tote, and my lesson work in the Protec.
