I absolutely LOVE this AC. It's extremely well made, very nice looking, and it provides ice cold air in small to medium sized rooms. I have it in a reasonable sized bedroom and it has it cooled off even on the hottest days in less than 5 minutes. As most AC's are, it's a little loud, But no louder than any other AC would be. The display and buttons on the unit are very well made and it seems like this is going to last me many years.

My ONLY complaint is the remote. It's "cool" and "modern" and it's very thin...but the buttons are almost hard to press at times because it's so thin. But it's a very minor complaint and absolutely wouldn't deter me from buying this AC again.

I highly recommend this for any small-medium sized room.

This is 4,000 btu smaller than the older model that I took out and due to the fact that its more efficient it really doesn't matter! Besides I'm saving money and the digital thermostat is really its best feature no more too hot too cold. And its got a dehumidifier and the new units are a smaller fit! One thing we had alot of mosquitoes and I did eventually pull the drain plug, because they started accumulating! They say it is more efficient with it in we'll see but its a sealed unit and when installed slight angle! Make sure you have clearance before buying!

Does an awsome job keeping mu finished attic cool, even though I have NO insulation and only 4" between the ceiling and shingles, and its over 100F outside. Also, power and noise are extremely low, and it shuts off when not cooling, so no constant fan noise like many other models.

Very disappointed in this unit. In fact, I am shocked by all of the positive reviews. I ordered my model from a local big box store but thought I would check out the reviews on Amazon as I find them to be pretty honest. The unit itself feels cheaply made and is very loud. We have it in our bedroom and it is way too loud to watch tv or have on at night. In fact, even my 9 year old commented on how loud it was when it turned on. We will be packing this unit up and returning it. I had I set at 70 degrees and it honestly did not cool off our master bedroom that well at all. And I don't think we have that large of a bedroom.

4.0 out of 5 starsMy first multifunction AC unit. The fan is a little loud for me depending on mood.

This is my first multifuntion AC unit that does more than straight air conditioning. I love the dehumidify feature, because pulling water out of the air makes the space tolerable at higher temperatures. I also run this AC in a room with a recirculating ceiling fan running all the time on low, so the refridgerated air is evenly dispersed.

Pros:
-"Energy Save" mode only engages the fan when the compressor is running, great because you only hear the loud fan when it's actually air conditioning.
-Great design of the AC unit housing, there is a channel on the bottom of the unit for drip condensate from cold side to flow to the hot side, where there is no drip condensate hole. The back is designed to pool the condensate and have the hot side fan splash it up in a form of evaporative cooling, I've noticed many newer AC units splashing up drip condensate to increase effiency. I also noticed the hot side fan has a shroud to help move outside air over the hot coils.
-Love the inside cold air output vents, can be tilted up so the cold air blows towards the ceiling helping cool the space faster.
-Thermstat on unit is surprisingly precise, I know because I have an analog thermometer on the other side of the room.
-AC compressor sounds like it has low/high speed, the low speed used for dehumidification mode.
-Remote has a broad range, as long as you can see the front of the AC unit, if the remote is in the same degree it will be sensed by the AC.
-The cold side fan IS powerful compared to other AC units I have, even on low.

Cons: Fan is noisy even on "low". HAIER should have lowered the fan speeds, making "low" "medium". HAIER, Please lower the fan speeds or design at lease the cold side fans to be quieter in this units next refresh!Read more ›
