I chose to get this monitor because I already had one but the monitor had broke. This new purchase is not that great. The hand held screen turns light than dark. The sound goes high than low. The charge on monitor does not last long at all. I would of return but my husband had ripped the package up. I would not recommend this.

This monitor worked very well for us...for about 3 months. After that time, the night light on the bedroom unit started flashing constantly and then burned out completely. 3 months later, the parent unit stopped holding a charge and we had to leave it plugged in all the time. Now, even with being plugged in, it won't work at all. Unfortunately, the unit is out of warranty so we're out of luck. Next time, I'm spending the extra bucks and getting a different one. Not recommended at all.

I have a 9 month old baby girl and I was surprised this monitor has such bad reviews because I have had this product for 9+ months and the only thing negative I can say is about it is the battery for the monitor DOES hold less of a charge. To be fair though, it never lasted long off the charger to begin with. We just take the charger and monitor and plug it in where we go from room to room or turn it up loud enough to hear in other rooms. Still, all of the functions still work and we use them. I have gone into the nursery a ton of nights after looking at the monitor and seeing a blanket over my baby's head (we have our doc's ok to use a blanket for the judgemental parents), that she's flipped onto her stomach or otherwise sleeping in a weird position, etc. I don't use the lullaby function because we have two toys that automatically shut off the music after a handful of minutes but the function does still work. I have also used the talk feature to soothe her when she woke up in her crib while I was getting a bottle for her in the kitchen. I think it works even better for my husband because he doesn't seem to hone in on sound from our infant like I can. Looking forward to this monitor showing me any mischief my little mover is going to start getting into such as standing and climbing in her crib so that we can drop the mattress down. When looking for a monitor I didn't want a complex, expensive system. I wanted to be able to talk through it, see a clear picture in any kind of light, and be able to zoom in. This monitor had all those requirements and a great price. If this doesn't last for another baby, I'd still buy another because it works for our family and other monitors are double and triple its cost.

We got a really nice Samsung monitor at our baby shower that retails for about $200. I didn't feel I could justify having one that expensive, so we opted for the Talk and Soothe Monitor by The First Years. BIG mistake. The baby was in our room for the first six months, so the monitor was used only a couple of times during nap time. At six months, the monitor was put to use, and within the first week pooped out on us. Since this happened over 6 months after purchase, I wasn't able to return it to the store. THE ONLY reason I am giving this product 2 stars is because of this company's customer service. I wrote to The First Years company and explained my situation. Without hesitation, they apologized and told me they would replace it with the See and Share. I received the new monitor within the week, and have been happy with it since. It's not top of the line by any means and has its quirks, but it works, and to me that is all that matters. If I were rating customer service, I would definitely give them a 5. This product, however, I was not pleased with at all. Other than it messing up and not being able to see the baby, the sound light at the top of the monitor was too much in my opinion.

Not a fan - I bought it on a good sale, so at least I didn't spend that much money on it. But for $100 as it's priced on Amazon I def wouldn't recommend. The monitor will barely hold a charge. It lasts about an hour before it has to be plugged back in. And then it takes several hours to fully charge back to where I can take it off and use it unplugged for an hour. The camera and sound does an okay job. Next baby I'll probably go ahead and spend the extra bucks to get a nicer one. For the money you'll spend on this, it's so not worth it and you might as well put in an extra $50 or $100 to get a high quality monitor.

I originally bought this monitor because I was a first time Mom & Knew I would want to always see my baby. Also, I liked the idea of being able to soothe my baby from another room and telling my step kids to get out of the baby's room from another room. The only bad thing about this monitor us,the battery it drains so fast. So I got into the habit of plugging it in in whatever room I was in or using an extension cord. Fast forward 20 months and I would just plug it into my room and turn the volume up. One night my son was running a high fever so I had the monitor with me and I was able to see him and call 911 as,soon as his seizure started. If I didn't have a monitor I may have never known he was silently seizing. I am so grateful for this monitor.

Our son is now 1 1/2 years old and it has completely died. I thought for a monitor costing $100 it would last a little longer. It didn't totally stop working at once either, it has been acting up for a while now. We have to keep in plugged in 100% of the time or it will die within 10 minutes. The picture started turning bad several months ago and lately the screen would flash and make strange noises. With another one on the way we have to purchase 2 monitors and this will NOT be one of them.
