I have a pair of the Durand boots and so was pretty certain I would like the shoe as well, and I sure do. I actually look forward to putting them on every day. I work 8-10 hours a day on a concrete floor and even shoes that you think are really really comfortable will let you down after a work day like that. Not so with these shoes. The only time I think about my feet during the day when I'm wearing these is to marvel at how good they feel. They have the classic Keen fit, quite roomy in the toe box, but I can cinch them down snug around the rest of my foot including my heel. Another reviewer mentioned heel slippage but the top metal shoelace eye/grommet is connected to a strap that runs around to the back of the shoe. That appears to be designed to tighten down/up the heel box with a final tug before you tie the laces. Works for me anyway... I generally wear between an 8 and an 8 1/2 but I got these in a 9. I was forewarned because the boots are the same way, they run a bit small. I wore the boots all last winter through snow and ice and every day at work and they still look really good. The shoes are just as rugged, I'm sure I'll wear them for years. The Magnet/Red Dahlia is perfect, Its a dark gray and the not too bright red accents and stripe along the sole are just enough color to make them interesting. Happy feet=happy me.

We walk every day around our rural community, through grass, a marshy meadow, over rocks, and on dirt roads. These are the perfect footwear for all our walking and hiking. I added my own insole, to give my almost 70 year old feet some more cushion than the ones that came in them provided. The laces stay tied nicely, a good feature. So far they have proven waterproof, which I will really put to the test when we go on our Alaska cruise and take all sorts of excursions into a variety of terrains. For such a sturdy shoe, this does not look at all like gunboats on your feet, and the red line around the sole is zippy and cute. One odd thing about them is the position and width of the top of the tongue in relationship to the laces where you tie them. The tongue seems to be made to have the knot under it as opposed to the more normal position of being under the knot. I will try both ways to see which proves more practicable. A great all around general walking and hiking shoe. Probably not for long treks or overnighters though. I ordered my usual size in hiking boots, a size 8. Fits well right out of the box.

Fit was too small. I should have gone larger, ORDER 1/2 to 1 size larger than you usually wear. I loved the shoe, very attractive but the next size bigger was $20 more! Crazy how different sizes cost different amounts. Makes me wish I had the size 5 shoe that is the cheapest in every KEEN style, not the size 9 that actually needs a 9.5 in this shoe style. Returned them.

Ok, these seem to fit...I wear a 7 and ordered a 7.5 as suggested by other reviews. Looseness in the left heel. I have to say though, what is with the design of the tongue on these shoes!? I'd really like to hear an answer from Keen via Amazon reviews about this...it's very large (HUGE) and doesn't fit under the laces or even into the shoe where it belongs! (Wrong box of parts at assembly?) I'm going to have to return them. At a hundred bucks, I would like to be able to just put them on and not have to fuss or try and figure out how to operate a pair of shoes. Shame on Keen for sending these out in the market hoping women wouldn't notice. Big waste of my time to order them and then have to send them back.

I wanted to like these low hikers because they seem well-made and are nice-looking. Unfortunately, I experienced the same problem that others had with the heel slippage issue. When I had the same issue with my current low hikers-Merrells, I discovered a way to manipulate the laces to offer a means by which to tighten the heel area. These Keens are not able to be adjusted due to the metal piece at the bottom of the lace holes.Yes, because of the strapping around the heel, it looks like that area can be adjusted but in reality it can't be.

When I tried tightening them as much as possible, the tops of my feet became uncomfortable. I tried for a few days trying different things that I that might improve the feel but nothing work. Then I thought, gee, if I have to work that hard at making the shoe fit comfortably, they are probably simply not a great fit. If they work for your feet then fantastic! I succumbed to having to return them.

I have wide feet, so I chose KEEN. Yet, the toe box is very wide for me. This is the second attempt to buy Keen. I noticed the one I purchased previously and this one both have wide toe box. So, if you have very wide toe area, Keen is for you, I think.

I love all Keen shoes, and I especially love that they stand behind their products if you do have a problem. I had an issue where the sole separated from the shoe after almost a year, but they had not been worn all that much. Keen gave me a credit and allowed me to pick any "similar" pair of shoes from their website without even having me return the faulty ones. Even though everything similar cost almost twice what I paid on Amazon, they sent the new shoes, no questions asked.

This is my first pair of waterproof hiking shoes. I expect them to last me the 10 years or so that my other Keens have lasted.

In the Amazon listing at the top it says they run true to size, but if you read the full description it says they run a half size small. This is very much true! Order a half size larger.

My only complaint is that the "Magnet/Red Dahlia" color looks more brown than grey in the photos. I wanted brown or even a warm grey, but these are just plain old grey. Maybe the color name "magnet" should have been a clue!
