For some reason I thought the thread would have been thicker, which it wasn't. Though it was an error on my judgment, I tested it on embroidery letter. It works well but will just take me longer to complete the work as the thread is thinner. The colour is as pictured.

This is a wonderfully soft metallic thread which is very unlike any other DMC metallics I have used in the past. While I use Thread Heaven with all of my other metallics (to keep them from twisting, bunching up, and fraying), I don't need to do so with this product.

From what I have read, this product is made in Japan and is made of 100% metallized polyester. Because of this, the thread is super soft. The thread three ply and is non-divisible and one thread is equivalent to two threads of embroidery floss. As I generally stitch on 14/28 or 16/32 count fabrics, I use two plies of floss and thus the metallic is the perfect size for me to use with my cross stitch.

I also really like this product for embroidery stitches - especially surface stitches because it gives a really great coverage. I use it to outline leaves and to do stem stitches. I use it anywhere I would like to provide to little glint to my project. It is really only for hand-wash (and very delicate hand-wash at that), so choose your projects wisely where this product is concerned.
