So, I recently had the grand idea to begin programming my strength training again. After scouring Craigslist for Olympic plates, both rubber and steel, I found myself in need of a Power Rack. Enter the Cap Power Rack.
There were three things I wanted out of this piece of equipment:
1. Squat Rack. I need something that I can do Front/Back Squats from.
2. Bench Press
3. Pull ups.
4. Leg Lifts
Cap Barbell Power rack fit the bill. Here's the highlights:
1. Shipped right to my house for free and everything was there when it came in.
2. It was easy to assemble (simple straight forward directions)
3. It took about 90 minutes.
4. Came with all the tools (although I used at 11/16 socket/wrench for speed)
After assembly, I decided to give it a quick test out and ran a few sets of pull ups. Straight pull ups went fine. Kipping pull ups swung a little bit, so I'll have to use plates to weight it down.
Here's a SWOT on the piece.
Strength: Price. Shipping. Ease of installment.
Weaknesses: Weight (light and needs to be held down for kipping). Holds only 300#'s
Opportunity: Allows for pull up, front squat, back squat and bench.
Threats: Takes up room in the garage and isn't foldable.
Bottomline: For the price, you can't beat it. I paid $150 but I think there was price drop...

For what you pay, it's absolutely worth it. Because of how much it weighs the shipping straps cut into the box and the bottom large re-enforcement washers were missing. However I contacted CAP and they 2 day priority mailed me them no questions asked. A+ for their customer service.
I've had no problems with pull-ups but don't do huge kipping. (You can kip a LITTLE with the plates on the plate rack and it'll be fine, just no super-circle crazy pull-ups) I also suspended my rings from the pull up bar and can slide them out of the way when not doing ring dips. The red paint does indeed rub off on your bar but I personally don't care. It comes right off if you wipe it down. And there you go! Bench, Squat, Deadlift and Military Press. By the time I reach 300 lbs I'll have used this rack up and then I'll upgrade the whole shabang.

Fast shipping......this is a great beginner set up.....I'm 250 pounds and can do strict pull ups with no sway......I've only had bar loaded with 245 on the rack and its pretty stable....would def recommend some type of safety spot system to use in conjunction....j cups seem to be the weak link but there are other options......I'll update review as I get more weight on it

First of all, let me just say, you get what you pay for. The powder coating finish had bubbles as if it was painted over rust. The bolts/nuts/washer package was literally stained orange from rust, as if the package was laying in a puddle for a week. The package was also missing 4 washers. Despite all this, we put the rack together in less than 25 minutes. The rack has held up with 300 lbs on the bar so far and performing pull ups is quite stable when anchored with a 45 lb plate in the plate holder. You get what you pay for with this rack, it is far from gym quality. However, for a garage set up not to exceed 300-325 lbs, it will suffice.
