I have wide calves, and have never found a wide calf boot that fits. These fit perfectly with a little room to spare. Not only do they fit, they are very comfortable. I teach, and spend all day on my feet. These are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. Highly recommended!!

very, very grateful, finally got my first pair of tall leather boots

I almost cried after I tried them on because I can finally wear tall leather boots from now on. I love boots but could only envy others because I could never find a pair of tall leather boots that I can wear. I have small but very wide feet and strong athletic calves (17"). I always feel embarrassed and frustrated when I tried boots at stores in many countries, including Japan, US, and UK. I'm so grateful and decide to give this pair of boots five stars even though they did look a bit like rain boots. They are so warm and comfortable. My feet are pampered by the high-quality leather boots, which I believe will stay with me for at least a decade. Thank God that I decided to take a bold move to buy boots all the way from the US (I'm in the Far East Asia).

Not sure I should have went for the wide calf version

Just received these boots and love the look of them. The heel height is perfect for what I was looking for. I bought an 8 1/2 which is my regular size & they fit my feet snugly. At this point I cannot wear thick socks with them but that doesn't bother me because I don't usually wear thick socks with my boots. The main problem I have with the boots is that I ordered the wide-calf version because my calf is 16 inches. I have worn regular boots in the past, but it is always a real "squeeze" to zip them up with jeans tucked into them. The shaft circumference on the regular version of this boot is listed as under 16 inches. I wish I would have bought them and then had the boot shaft stretched. These Malia Poplar A boots definitely have a wide calf. I took a tape measure and ran it around the inside circumference of the boots and the measurement is 18 inches on the size 8 1/2 that I have. When I wear them I have a huge gap all the way around the top of the boot (even with jeans tucked in) and not really happy with how that looks. I can actually fit my entire hand down the inside the boot. I really do love how they look and they are very well made boots so I don't want to send them back. I am going to try to find a shoe repair shop or leather shop that can take them in. I've seen a couple of videos online showing how that is done.

Huge upper calf!

It fit perfect except it was a bit tight across the part of the foot where the toes meet the foot. They are not MInnesota winter boots but they are attractive fashion boots. My calves are big but this boot would look great on people with BIG calves. The cut in that area looks fashionable so I am keeping them. The price was right, they look good, they feel pretty good.

Perfect for wide calves.

The foot bed is comfortable and size wise they are pretty accurate on length and width. There is enough stretch to accommodate those of us with large calves (mine is 17.5"). I do find them a bit tight across the top of my foot and my foot kept going numb so I'll need to use a shoe stretcher before wearing on long days. They aren't as quite as tall as I was hoping (and I'm on the short side) but they look exactly as pictured. Also, the shaft portion of the boot seems to slouch at the ankles after a few hours which causes the stiff leather to rub at the ankles causing hot spots. Overall, a great casual boot.

These boots are really nice, and I'll be wearing them to work. They have nicely padded soles, and are comfortable to walk in. I did order the wide width after reading other reviews, and I'm glad I did. They're still a tiny bit roomy, but now I can wear boot socks. The calf area is also large which I wanted since I have large calves, and there's room to tuck in pants. The area between the ankle and calf is big, but I can live with it. I'm just so excited to have found these. It's my first pair of tall boots in 20 years because I couldn't find them to fit my calves.

I measured my calf at 17" around and would say that these were great in that area. Definitely a half inch or so gap at the calf. The only problem was that everything else felt huge. Granted, I ordered a wide when I'm probably on the fringe between having a normal and a wide foot, but the biggest problem was the ankle area. It was huge. I think because it's a stiffer leather material, you could get away with it somewhat (at least there won't be extra material bunching up around the ankle), but since the size was clearly too big for me, I just returned them and decided not to try again. I ordered my normal size in a wide width, FYI.

I loved, loved, loved these boots. The quality is superb. I felt very bad when I packaged them to go back. I read all reviews, so that is why
I always try to write one that could help another customer in doubt. I have athletic calves. I have also had joint surgeries. I like a good, ample
fit and a very good arch support. I wear socks with boots and also like to tuck jeans or leggings insides. If these boots were just a half inch more in diameter I would have kept them. The foot bed was a little tight for me, also. If you like the looks of these boots, don't hesitate.
They will not last long for the price and the fact that they are CLARKS, after all. I would suggest you order up a size if you like socks.

I love these boots
