This was purchased for my Mom in the nursing home. She refuses her meals but since I've been transferring the food to this plate, she belongs to the clean plate club - lol. I can't give you info as to how a child will react to it, but an 88 year old woman reacts just fine.

I love the idea of these plates and it is a great way to mix up what your kids eat and force them to eat more vegetables and fruits. However, the "YOU WIN" part of it should have some kinda lock on it, so sneaky children like mine don't go straight for the prize before finishing what's on their plate. So what I do now is tell them the lid is their "ticket" to their prize and they have to redeem them. It is harder to clean than other plates with compartments but this is obviously a novelty item. My kids think it's fun and as a parent I had fun filling up the tiny compartments with different things. Warning: the picture I show here is what happens when you ask your husband to fix lunch for the kids. 100% Chicken nuggets.

This is FANTASTIC. My son has Autism and has a big problem with eating. The first day he had this he ate everything and had fun doing it. I have told Loads of friends about this and have put it on many many Autism pages on facebook. This is a wonderful tool for picky eaters. Thank you so much.

Love love LOVE this! It made dinner time pleasant without the "how many bites do I HAVE to eat???" My picky 4yo ate it right up, as did my picky 6yo. Even their peas which they would have sworn before would have KILLED THEM if they ate them. LOVE IT!

My kids have had a terrible time eating (ages 3 and 5). They both have no interest in anything I have ever fed them and have never requested food that wasn't candy. They have never recognized that they felt hungry. Each bite every day has been a battle. I did not think such a simple product could change our meal times, and therefore our daily lives, so dramatically but it has. They are becoming excited and engaged in their own eating. They are finishing their plates without constant reminders. Some people have mentioned that this plate could not hold enough food for a meal, but I would disagree. I just fed them each five ounces of diced grilled chicken, a biscuit, some carrots, a bit of broccoli, and a couple chocolates in the prize space. That might be a small meal but compared to what they were eating before it's great! They both ate it happily. It's the exact same food I might have offered any night before but with these plates they actually ate it. Thank you to the creators of this product!

First off the shipping was excellent. I received this item and only three days. Second off, I was actually shocked when I opened it. The plate is super strong and sturdy. Actually, to be quite honest it's even a little heavy. This is very very well-built. I have a two-year-old that I have a hard time getting to eat anything as soon as I gave him his food in this plate he immediately ate everything on it. Same goes for my four-year-old! I would not hesitate to Buy these as baby shower gifts. Thanks for making a great product! As a future suggestion if you could develop some kind of lock on the treat part that can only be open with a code somehow I would be willing to pay extra. For now I just keep the treat out of it until they're in the last space and then add it. Seems to be working fine that way.

SUCCESS!!! 14 year old aspie - high functioning was "intrigued." Spinach leaves (tolerated), baked fish sticks (preferred), baked fries (very preferred), mandarin oranges (tolerated) and three Hershey kisses, (Favorite thing to eat!) Verdict? He ate everything in order, left only one spinach leaf, never sneaked a peek at the dessert until he was done and was psyched! I have been trying to introduce a fruit and veggie DURING a meal instead of at other times during the day. Wish this also came with bigger food spots for older kids but it was super cool!!! THANK YOU for this amazing product!

My picky grandson tries new bites of things just to get to surprise treat hidden under finish lid at end. We also turned it into a game by rolling dice and having him count and try what is in that space. Might not be an approved method of getting kids to try new foods ... But you know ... What happens at grandma's ...
