Being a tall (6'4") individual, I had always experienced some foot pain and/or circulation issues throughout the day, particularly when I had to be on my feet for a long time, or was sitting anywhere without perfect support (cars, planes, etc.). One day when I was griping about some discomfort, a friend who is a podiatrist asked why I wasn't wearing compression socks. I said "what? the ones for diabetics?" He laughed and explained the benefits of them for virtually anyone, especially those who are tall and don't have high blood pressure. Since then, I almost dread any sort of occasion for which I can't wear compression socks, because they've made such a tangible difference in my every day comfort. I own several that are "sports" models, which are fine for casual wear, but look a little silly with business clothes for work. These fit that particular need perfectly. They don't look significantly different from a standard dress casual sock, but they provide great support, padding, and that wonderful circulation-enhancing compression. Highly recommended.

These are the best I have tried in over two decades. It was always hit-or-miss through catalogs, mostly synthetics. Never I was wearing the sock; they wore me. In New York City, mom-and-pop hosiery stores in the Lower East Side had the goods so you could actually see/feel the quality. I discovered these in a retail shoe store, then found a better price through Amazon.com. The compression is correct, the merino wool blend is cushy, and the top doesn't BIND. I expect to wear them (daily) through the Spring, not too warm at all. NOTE: Instead of Ladies Large, I buy the Men's Medium; I like roomy toes.

These socks are really comfortable to wear all day at work. I wear a size 13 dress shoe and the XL size fits me well. I have a job where I am standing, or walking most of the day, and these socks keep my feet and ankles from swelling. That's a good thing when you're 55+.
I ordered two pairs for work. After only ONE WEEK, one sock developed a hole in the toe box above my right big toe! So I'm not sure about the long lasting quality of the material. Amazon promptly replaced the defective item. (See photo after one week of use).

a few weeks ago, when I came home from a long flight I noticed my feet and lower legs were really swollen. Bought a pair of these socks and have used them on 2 long-haul flights since. They are just wonderful. Not too hot but constrictive enough to prevent that swelling. Also, they stay on and don't end up around your ankles. Now, these socks are the first thing I get out from the closet when getting ready for a flight.

It fits well and gives a nice cool feel for an over the calf compression sock. I liked it and am glad I bought a pair. Great for airplane trips to keep you from getting a blood clot. It isn't just old people that get those, almost everyone does, they just '/usually' get reabsorbed. It doesn't matter how fit you are either. A friend of mine that is very fit flew from Dallas to Seattle (he's 30) and had a Pulmonary Embolism soon after arriving. The day before he was wakeboarding.

In looking for compression socks, it was gratifying to find something that was not flesh toned or plain black or white and that would require you to break into a sweat trying to pull on. They do help to energize my husband's legs.

I love these compression socks! I hear people complain about these type of socks but I found these to be very comfortable and they really help with the swelling I was getting in my ankles. I also noticed that I have more spring in my step throughout the day when I'm wearing these, so after trying them out through a lighting deal, I just ordered another pair at regular price. My mom taught me to fold them from the top to the heel and then again, which makes it easier to then pull them on your foot and up to your ankle, then unfold and pull them gently up your calf, and unfold them one last time to get them up to your knees. This works well for me. I did buy these men's socks in a large/extra large size because I'm a plus size woman with size 11 feet. They fit very comfortably.

I am the happy owner of >5 pairs of this gray style. I wear these daily, year-round in Virginia and they breath well. They can be aired over night and re-worn without smell or discomfort like most wool items. The large fits well for my 17" calf and the length works without stretching to reach my knee. I spread out any extra length down my lower leg & foot since they are meant for men (women's sizes do not allow for large calves & often don't reach my knees). I also have a pair each of the black herringbone and solid black. But for some reason they do not fit as well. The solid black are too tight and the black herringbone are really long & leave little diamonds in my skin at the end of the day.
After about a year of use, my 1st pair is wearing out.
