This is lovely! It does stay warm for at least an hour and it has a mild cooked rice smell-which I think is pleasant. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the rice does move around and switch pockets so you have half stuffed with rice and the other half is sparsely filled.

We have a massage business and sell these heating pads. I use this one in particular during my massages. While I work on the legs, the heating pad is increasing the circulation in the back muscles. It's large enough to cover most people from the base of the neck to the sacrum. By the time I get to the back, the muscles are more relaxed and makes it easier to do deep tissue. It's great quality and has a washable cover. Highly recommend!

This heating pad is easier to use than my electric one. I've only had it briefly but it doesn't have anything to break so I don't expect to have that problem. Also it maintains its heat for a long time without getting too hot or cooling off too fast. The soft material is a nice addition.

Love this product..finally a heat moist pack that is big enough to cover large areas of the body at once. I get horrible sciatica, low back pain, and muscle spasms, and this covers entire areas at once to help remedy the pain faster. Also great for menstrual cramping. I will probably end up buying more as gifts!

I especially like that I can sit my feet in the middle of it and drap the two ends across the top of my feet I use it while in the recliner or tuck it at the foot of the bed at night. Nice large size. Heating it up for 1.5 minutes is not enough to get it hot, though. And the 10 seconds increments until desired heat is achieved takes far too long. I tried 3 minutes straight on my microwave of 1000W and it was better. Now I have pushed it up to 4.5 minutes straight, and it works fine. After that I usually add another 30 seconds which works fine for me.

Sometimes I get very cold at night and it takes hours for my body to heat up enough under the covers. I got this with the thought of being able to put it near my feet when I go to bed on a cold winter day. I love that this is cordless. I also love that because it is cordless, it should be safe to use for children over a certain age (don't use with babies!). Sometimes my five-year old daughter gets very cold after a bath and I would feel safe sending her to bed with this to help warm her up.

The cover is made out of a type of fleece material and is removable. It seems like it would be durable. The inner heating pad is filled with either rice or flax seeds. It seems to be made out of a cotton material that reminds me of muslin. There is stitching separating the pad into chambers but the stitched line segments do not go all the way to the sides of the pad so I think some of the filling could still shift some over time. I do wonder about the durability of the inner pad given the relatively thin muslin-like material.

I heated the wrap up in the microwave according to the directions and am really pleased with how it feels. It is very warm and comforting. The seller had emailed me instructions warning me to clean my microwave before heating up the wrap, which I found funny, but it's a good point.

Overall I think this is a really nice item and I appreciate the large size of the pad and its portability and safety due to its lack of an electrical component. My only additional comment is that upon seeing the pad, I realized that someone could make something like this at home relatively easily at likely a substantial cost savings. But then you'd have to gather or purchase the appropriate materials, deal with sewing with a messy filling material, make it turn out not lumpy, etc. But if you are DIY-inclined, I think it could be done yourself.
