Product Description

Casio Tough Solar Ani-Digi Watch, Matte Black/Grey. Utilizing a unique Self-Charging solar power system, this sporty analog/digital combination model provides plenty of functionality. A host of features such as 48-city world time, 5 alarms, stopwatch and dual countdown timers make this a versatile timepiece for almost any sport outing.

Casio

With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.

Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward.

The AQ-S810W is a good looking Analog watch, this version with grey markings imo looks more adult/refined compared to the white version. The white version appears to glows in the dark better though. I am skinnier so this watch fit my wrist better than larger models.

    So far it has survived:
-Fixing a couple of broken running sprinklers
-A weeks’ worth of baby baths being fully to partially submerged

    Compared to the GA100-1A1:
-Not a G-Shock, I'll have to wait and see how long it last
-Slightly smaller making it perfect for daily use; doesn't bang on keyboard and dig into baby while holding said baby
    -Noticeably lighter

Very impressed with this watch. Would have easily paid more for it. The solar feature is awesome. It's a large watch, not as big as most of the G-Shock watches so it fits nicely even on smaller wrists. It kind of looks like a G-Shock, too. Overall, very satisfied with the look and quality.

Usually I don't wear a watch: I have enough clocks (on my smart phone, computers, car, etc.) and I don't care for the bulk & weight of something on my wrist. I bought this for an international trip, to avoid pulling out my mobile phone to keep track of the time during tightly scheduled activities.

DIMENSIONS: A couple in the description above are incorrect - are actually smaller than stated.
    - Band width (46.6 mm) is actually 27 mm at the case, necks down to 20 mm for most of its length.
    - Case DIA 5.2 cm is from top of the case to the bottom, at the band attachment points. Side to side is actually ~46 mm.
Probably a little big for some wrists, and maybe for some long sleeves & cuffs.

    HANDS:
    - Automatically move after the digital time has been set - this is a big deal vs. other watches (where the analog & digital are not linked, are set separately, and the hands can only be adjusted forward - I stopped wearing one of those b/c the hands ran fast, and keeping the them synced with the digital was a pain).
    - At beginning of each minute (00 seconds), minute hand moves PART way to the next minute, at 20 seconds moves a little farther, then at 40 seconds moves the rest of the way. A little annoying, but I'll get used to it. [SEE UPDATE BELOW]
    - No second hand (but for this price, and the automatic link with the digital clock, probably not feasible). The digital second indicator & display are ok (when not obscured by the minute hand).
    - Minute hand obscures parts of the digital display at for a couple minutes each hour - reading the stopwatch, timer, etc. is a bit of a challenge at those times. Able to see around it with a little difficulty.

    FEATURES & BUTTONS:
    - Use of the buttons & digital features is reasonably intuitive.

This watch looks great and like the other review states looks a little like a gshock, i really like the Matte black finish
for around $40.00 this is a steal for solar watch (if you don't want to drop $100.00 or more) i also like the fact i can abuse this without concerns of an expensive watch.

    Pros:
nice looking face (i like the gray hours and black finish, you will be hard pressed to find another similar watch in this price range)
    Lightweight / waterproof
    solar powered with charge meter
has 5 alarms / stop watch / date or day can be displayed on small lcd

    cons:
no seconds had (has digital seconds though)
    light only lights up lcd
feels mildly cheap, but that is relative
I Recommend this for anyone on a budget looking for a solar Casio similar to g shock that looks military

5 Stars does exactly what all the gshock do plus it's solar powered it's just as light weight and it's matte black. Looks like a stealth manly military watch . Has lume on the hour and minute hand that last like 15 minutes was really shocked of all the functions and construction of the watch for only 40 bucks. Would buy this all day over a gshock. With a gshock it's all the same functionality but double the price! Def. get the casio solar tough watch worth the money and your actually paying for the same layouts as a gshock. With a gshock price is inflated just because of the name and marketing that goes into it.

This watch hits the top so far as the value/price ratio. The face is easily readable, with luminous hour and minute markers, but the subdued, matte black surfaces on the rest of the face keep it from shouting, "Look, it's a dive watch!" It is full-sized, but quite light, which suits me fine--big, readable face but not annoying to wear. The only catch to be aware of is that it has no second hand; the seconds will appear in the digital display with the proper settings. Lots of instructions in the little booklet that accompanies the watch, which are generally very clear and helpful--it has a lot of functions. It took only an hour in the sun to hit a "Hi" battery charge, and has stayed there since in normal wear. I like that when I walk into the movie theater, I can still read the watch easily at a glance from the luminous hands for several minutes (it has the usual illumination by pushing a button also.) It's a keeper.
