Flavor Name: Rice with Chicken and VegetablesSize: 7.25 Ounce (Pack of 12)
The whole range of Chef Boyardee/ConAgra microwavable bowls are like a civilian version of the military's MRE's-- Portable, shelf stable, and ready to heat and eat at any time. They taste decent, and will hold you for several hours if you can't get away from the office for lunch, or are stuck at work late at night. Far cheaper than ordering out! This variety is a departure from the usual pasta/tomato sauce types on their menu, and it's quite good. More rice than chicken and veggies, but hey, it's a microwave emergency ration. Very good for what it is, and almost no extra liquid. I keep at least one in my desk for emergencies.

I have to admit that the people who have reviewed this product expect an awful lot from something that can be cooked in its own container in less than a minute. I love macaroni and cheese in any format and while this is not the best I have eaten, I find it to be more than OK. This was purchased using the CONAGRA discount and for its convenience and taste I find it well worth what I paid. Not gourmet by any stretch but still pretty decent.

It's very difficult to find gluten free products that are convenient for travel, cost effective and taste good. This one fits all those criteria.

I've been eating a lot of Chef Boyardee products since I started my healthier eating plan a month ago. Before my healthy eating plan I was eating very unhealthy. So when I decided that it was time for me to make some changes, i was looking into buying food from Nutrisystem, etc because they are convenience and supposedly healthy. However I found out those diet packaged food are no better than the package food in the store, I was like, "screw that, i'll pick my own from the store."
The downside of any packaged food is the sodium content, is always high for some oddly reason. Chef Boyardee's microcups are very affordable in comparison to my typical fast meals I purchase from my school.

The serving is just about right, it's enough to keep me fill 'til dinner time actually. People who say this is not enough for lunch could be that they are not eating a filling breakfast. My breakfast is no milk and cereal or granola bar, but a full size breakfast. I have plain oatmeal as my main carb in the morning along with protein, so i sometimes have a small dish of stir-fried chicken or grilled chicken or eggs and a plate of green if possible.

My dinner is usually whole-grain /whole-wheat pasta topped with homemade Alfredo sauce or a variety of poultry on top of that.

Anyhow, going back to Chef Boyardee Rice with Chicken & Vegetables.
I love the taste and flavor...it has the right about of flavoring.
I used to get their Beefaroni, but that gets to have too much sugar, it's like 5g-6 per serving and the lasagna is even higher at 7g.
This Chicken rice veggie cup only has 1g of sugar, definitely a plus on that.

Anyhow, the only thing i wish they could do is do better on the sodium content.

I'm old now and I remember eating this when I was a kid. I loved it then and I still eat it to this day. It has changed over the years, just subtle changes in flavor or maybe sauce texture. Those changes never bothered me and they seem to always improve things. And I cannot think of a better way to buy these than here, in a 4 pack.

Chef Boyardee dishes have been a favorite of mine ever since I was a little girl and they continue to be my favorite now. I've always liked the pasta dishes and the spaghetti and meatballs is one of the ones that I like the best.
I like the sauce and the noodles and the combination and flavor is great.
This is super easy to fix, especially now that they have the pop top lids and you don't need a can opener anymore. Easy to take to work without having to drag a can opener with you. Just eat it out of the can or pour it into a dish and heat it up in the microwave, or if you don't mind it taking more time, on the stove.
I don't heat easy items like this on the stove as it wastes too much time and energy, both mine and the electricity.
I like that these also come in the four packs, especially if you need to take them all somewhere with you, like to store in a locker at work.
They are at a much better price when you buy them like this too. I see that they are currently unavailable on Amazon right now, but if you wait a while they will more than likely be back in stock before you know it.
I have four mini Dachshunds that I share the meatballs with that absolutely love it when they see that I am grabbing a can for lunch. They come running and chase me down wherever I decide to eat it at because they all know they are going to get a special treat. There are plenty of meatballs to share with them too, they don't skimp on that.
I usually cut them in half or quarters for them though because they are quite large as far as they are concerned. For me the meatballs are an okay size to eat whole but I usually cut them in half.
There is also plenty of tomato sauce, but not too much that it's runny or overpowering. The right amount of noodles, tomato sauce and meatballs.
