I tried three tortellini products from Amazon including Davinci Tortellini, 7 Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12) and Racconto 5-Cheese Tortellini, 8.9-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12) The Barilla was easily the best. (Racconto the worst) The pasta stayed reasonably firm while the filling became soft and tasty. The rating is meant to compare this to other dried, filled products, not fresh. A great staple to have around the house.

I picked these up on a whim at the grocery store a couple years ago & was so glad I did! I'm becoming a fan of Barilla products. Their Tortellini with Cheese and Spinach is a family favorite. I haven't been able to find it on the store shelves in my area for quite a few months. I'm happy to see I can purchase it online. We like to serve these with spaghetti sauce. My daughter & I have enjoyed them cold in a chef salad, & I've even eaten leftovers cold right out of the refrigerator.

This package contains enough tortellini to feed four people, and the taste is good if unspectacular. As other reviewers have pointed out, you can't expect fresh pasta taste from a bag. Besides wheat and durum flour, sunflower oil and salt, and three mild cheeses (ricotta, emmentaler, and grana padano), several ingredients are included to keep the tortellini bound together: egg, bread crumbs, oat fiber, and potato flakes. The pasta holds up very well and keeps its shape while cooking, unlike a few others we've tried. Some may decide that the added wheat, oat, and potato fiber, healthful as they are, have a slight effect on the flavor or texture of the dish, but none of the adults or kids in my family found it offputting. Barilla Three Cheese Tortellini is reasonably priced, and it makes a quick, filling, convenient meal.

This is a bag of dried pasta that you don't have to refrigerate that can feed a small family in ten minutes for less than five dollars. Concededly, it does not taste as good as fresh pasta, but it's unrealistic to expect it to. For what it is, this is a very good buy; it's convenient, quick, cheap and very good. It's a great "emergency meal." We always have a few packs in the cupboard, and the kids never complain when it's served.

I've bought this product many times in the supermarket. The Amazon price is much better than what I have ever paid for the same item. It's nice to have on the shelf because my family will always eat tortellini. The fresh tortellini that you buy in the refrigerator case has a different, fresher, taste; however, this is still delicious and great to have on hand. All you need to do is boil it, toss it in some butter, maybe add a little bit of tomato sauce (not much) and some grated cheese (not much). With a salad, that's a good, satisfying dinner!

Ordered 4 and 3 of them had expiration dates 3 months out. One of them had no expiration date at all.

I originally rated this a 1 star purchase, but have since talked to Barilla and my experience with them was 4 star (the first rep I talked to told me they only wanted the undated product and to go ahead and eat the nearly stale bags). But management listened to that call and contacted me back and told me they would replace the bags with fresh and also talk with Amazon about the rotation problem again. They also sent out a retrieval kit because they were genuinely interested in seeing the bag with no lot or date markings.

She explained to me that this is made in Italy and is only dated 9 months out, so sometimes there is a date problem if it's not rotated properly.

I never knew until I found them on Amazon that these existed! So glad I bought them! My daughter (almost 4) loves these with "red sauce" and I love them with Alfredo. Any way you dress them up they're super yummy and quick!

I think my expectations were a bit too high: I was expecting a gourmet taste from the "sweet Swiss Emmenthal, light Ricotta, and nutty Grana Padano".

The cheese was just okay. I think because its dry pasta, and not frozen, that the cheese do not hold their true flavors. It taste a bit bland on its own. What really makes it a dish is all the extra seasoning that I added to it: I added olive oil, butter, lots of grated Parmesan, some oregano, and black pepper, and THEN it felt like a good dish.

It feeds a family of four, it only needs to be boiled for 10 minutes and if you add all the necessary extra ingredients, it taste good when paired with hot garlic bread from the oven.

The tortellini will also go great with alfredo sauce as well.
