This is the first kit I've tried by Plaid and it is absolutely wonderful fun. I've tried for years to learn to paint from books and kits and have no talent whatsoever - I always ended up getting all stressed out about it. But now with this kit, I look forward to sitting down and painting. It is really gratifying to see the painting come to life. My arthritic hands used to tremble a little when I tried regular painting, but with this kit (for some odd reason), my hands have become steadier the longer I paint - even the itsy bitsy areas. I am just ecstatic to have found such a simple way of painting. LOVE! By the way, the paints are more than enough to finish the painting, and the colors are just beautiful.

I have been doing paint by number for several years. The thing I really like about this company is that you do not have to mix or blend any colors. I found that when I had to mix and blend you could never duplicate and get the same shade of color. I am on my third painting by this company and I am very satisfied. They are the only one I will buy paint by number kits from. They send you enough mixed paint to complete the project.

I loved working on this one. This was my 6th one from plaid i love only doing there paint by number for many reasons.
1.love the colors
2.the picture always turns out beautiful
3. always get compliments on it when finished

The only flaw with this one is u need to do like 3 coats on multiple numbers

the best part of this one is yu get all the colors, no mixing. I did make a few changes, the female head is at the wrong angle or missing an eye. I fixed her and my friends loved it. the grey-green-beige back ground colors are vey soothing. as well, I thought the female should be brown, but I looked it up in the web and in fact she is very close to the colors they gave here. right now they are hanging in my kitchen which has a lot of red: roosters, poppy, geraniums,and looks really well. let me just point out something I saw as a complaint on another patinting. they ALL have areas without a number, even on the instructions. its a rare bit, but its NOT meaning it should be white. white has its own code. to get all areas as the box has blank spots, I scanned in the image off amazon and printed it out large as possible. This is the best way to guess any areas where there is no code or its not very visible. most acrylics are a little transparent so don't be surprised if you still see the numbers after one layer. usually it is enough to put a second coat only on the number, but sometimes it takes another coat. as well, the tiny white spots area problem, I think they are air bubbles that burst, because it will look great, until 2 hours of drying. since the number is now painted over I paint the tops of the paint pots so I can compare and see what needs touch up. even though we aren't mixing here paint can become too thick, I use liquitex flow aid to dilute it and I suggest letting the newly mixed paint sit for an hour or two. for the best touch up, turn the paining upside down.

You do not have to mix paint to complete this; however, this can be an overwhelming painting if you have never painted a paint by number before. It will go easier if you buy some different sized artist brushes, because this painting has a good deal of really small spaces as well as some large ones. If you take your time, you will have a nice painting worthy of display when you are finished. Also, be prepared to paint every space with at least two coats if you really want the painting to pop.

This is a very detailed PBN print, not really for beginners. I LOVE it- I do mix colors, and don't exactly follow all the lines and it's turning out beautifully. I ran out of some colors due to mixing, and contacted PLAID, they sent me the colors I needed at no extra cost- their customer service is fantastic. Highly recommended to someone who doesn't mind spending quite some time painting- great results.

I loved doing this picture. My husband is into model trains and is redoing our garage for his "man cave". I bought this so he could hang it there. Just finished it and he loves it. Yes the paint got a little stiff, but a few drops of water and stir with a toothpick made it easier to use. The best part of this is NO BLENDING. I am hoping that Plaid will come out with more train paint by number kits. Really am happy with this company.
