I was quite hesitant to try these cupcake wrappers after reading all of the negative reviews. They did have a strong odor when I took them out of the package. I baked two test vanilla cupcakes and used one colored wrapper and one white wrapper. I tasted both cupcakes and they tasted exactly the same. The flavor was not affected by the odor of the wrapper.

I loved the colors however when I took them out of the package they had a very strong , unpleasant odor. I can't use them because of the smell. It is really a shame because all of Wilton's products have thus far been wonderful. I suspect that the dye used in the paper is creating the "funky" smell.

Very vivid colors and so pretty in the package. If you want to display how beautifully colored they are though stick with a vanilla or white cupcake mixes. Dark colors like red velvet don't allow you to see much color

Boy I really should have listened to the reviews on these, These cup cake papers really DID have a nasty Oder so I thought I could take them out of the container they came in and let them air out ........ NOPE now my whole cabinet stunk, so I decided to bake a batch of cupcakes and see if they would be different with the heat ....... NOPE not only did they still stink the cupcakes even tasted like the stink. I'm really disappointed with the Wilton company as I am not the only one to complain about this problem. And it is NOT worth my time to send two packages back, I have already wasted to much time and money . I not only will start to look at other companies for cup cake papers I just ordered from another company, Come on Wilton's you better start getting back to your good standards. Its a shame that the only thing I could use these for was to fill up my garbage can.

These baking cups do have a strong odor out of the package, as some reviewers have noted. However, I have found that the boldly colored/ patterned baking cups often do (not sure why). It goes away in the oven and doesn't affect the taste of the baked goods at all. Although these are highly pigmented papers, if you bake chocolate or brightly colored cupcakes in them, you can see the cake through the wrapper (which I was a little disappointed by). Otherwise, they are great. I will repurchase them when they're gone!

I bought these back on December 10, 2015, and let me tell you these cups last a long time. I'm only down to the first green cup, after 2 1/2 almost three months! I bake Red Velvet cupcakes to sell at the university every month, and I bake about 48 each time (maybe less). I really didn't think that I would still have some of these cups left, but I'm pleasantly surprised! I'm so happy with my purchase, and it's taken me a while to finally review this. However, I finally got around to it and I'm here to tell you to buy Wilton 300 ct baking cups! You will not be disappointed.

Everyone is complaining about a foul/bad odor coming from these baking cups, but I don't smell a thing. If anything, they smell like typical wax paper, but that's just me. My RV cupcakes tasted magnificent as always while using these baking cups, so the 'odor' didn't affect it in any way. The baking cups do turn a darker after being in the oven, maybe it's because I spray cooking spray on the cupcake pan and the cups.

Overall, these cups were a good find and deal. I will be buying more after I ran out of the one's I currently have!

Disclaimer; Although I do review discounted products, I purchased Wilton's 300 ct baking cups at the FULL price.

I was a bit skeptical buying these, BC of other reviews, but so glad I did!
They are vibrant in color and well made.
There is a smell, but nothing that is off putting or that will "flavor" your cupcakes.
The smell is just the smell of paper sitting in plastic (if that makes sense).

I was surprise with this baking cups. I expected them to be crap (bought them to experiment on different batters and practice).
Love the bright colors! Colors will keep as long as you use at least two together, even on chocolate (except the yellow, I could see the darker color still, which I expected). Of course they dont hold shape great so if your pan is a little loose/big they will expand out instead of up.

Now if only they made aluminum ones with these colors all would be right in the world! LOL
