I bought these walkie talkies for a seven-year-old girl, and she just loved them. We tested the quality of the audio signal from everywhere in the house, and also from outside, and it was very clear. They are relatively easy to use, and you can figure it out without looking at the directions, although it takes a screwdriver to install the batteries (which are not included). The range (2 miles) is better than most other models that I looked at, and I like it that these do not have branded children's characters on them but also do not look like something that adults would use in the military.

These are really fun and the range is quite far for a kids' toy. My son's friends live about a 1/4 mile away and yet the boys can talk on these from within their homes. There are 4 frequency ranges and a 'call' button. They're a must for any SPY kids collection.
My only beef is that they totally suck up the batteries!

It's a totally awesome toy I purchased for my 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl! It makes them happy so Mommy is happy as well. Just keep an eye and don't forget to turn it off when they're not using it or it's going to eat up battery life. Overall is a great walkie-talkie for my toddlers. Highly recommended!

My son (5 yrs old) and I love these. On days where I don't feel like trekking to the bus stop with him, we use these to communicate as he makes the walk. Once on the bus, we continue to chat until we lose connection. He gets about a mile away before it starts to break up, which is pretty awesome for a toy. When he's at a neighbor's house, I have him take this along so we can talk, discuss when he has to come home, etc. I intend to use them on excursions with the family for when we separate, whether intentionally or because stuff like that happens. Batteries don't last forever, but that's the nature of the beast. The units have up/down buttons for the volume, and the red circle glows when the transmission button is pressed, so little ones use that as their cue to speak, Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Simple walking talkies. Good range. And most importantly, the "call" noise can be set to very quiet and the noise is not super irritating like our last pair. Quietly feels very lightweight, but they work well.

We wanted walkie talkies for our son. We received a set of Nerf walkie talkies from a relative and we also received a set of these Spy Gear ones. We put batteries in both. Thsee, by FAR where the best! They are clear easy to use and have never failed us. Same cannot be said for the Nerf walkie talkies. We live in a quad house. They were as clear as a bell from the basement up to the top floor... It was impressive!
