(I purchased this product directly from the company's website, as the price was a little better.) Much like the Duck Dynasty-branded salt & pepper peanuts, these fell short of the mark for me, in trying to find a replacement for the similar (now discontinued) product offered exclusively at Target stores (from their own in-house brand).

First off, aside from the seasoning, I didn't care for the peanuts themselves. I thought they were way too hard — in fact, I worried about breaking a tooth on them.

As far as the seasoning, that wasn't to my tastes, either. Although it sounds strange to say, though I would have liked a more peppery flavor, there was too much actual pepper in these. I actually poured the peanuts into a colander and sifted out the excess pepper over the sink before dumping them into a bowl. But despite that excess, there was a lack of strength to the pepper flavor (even when I tasted them straight out of the container).

Maybe it's a hard combination to get just right, I don't know. But I will continue my search for the perfect salt & pepper peanuts. These get 2 1/2 stars out of 5 from me.

If you are used to the amount of salt that is on Planters peanuts, you will probably find these too salty. I don't taste much besides salt.

And quality? I guess I'd say it's good, but frankly I haven't ever had bad peanuts.
