First of all, these colors are well represented in the photo, they work well together, and they create a soft natural look.

The modular packaging design is sleek and cool and one of it's nicest features. Clicks together properly with other Jouer pallets.

Overall, though, my impression of the cosmetics themselves is rather mixed. Some are nice, some not, and overall I'm biased against the this coral color family (my least favorite; I prefer berries or browns or pinks...or...anything but coral, really). I will try to not let that influence my review overmuch.

There are two products I would consider purchasing and two I would not. I would consider purchasing the eyeshadows and the highlighter. I would recommend either. I would not repurchase the powder or the gloss. I would caution you not to purchase the powder for its own sake. Individual reviews follow below, from least-favorite-to-favorite.

POWDER: First of all, I really like the idea of translucent powder packaged with bronzer. It's mildly genius. I like the intention of providing a finely milled powder that doesn't clump. However, the execution stinks. The powder palette broke free from the pan on the first or second use. It can't be reinserted. More annoying is that it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to pick up ANY product on a brush or sponge. Have you ever bought and extremely OLD product that just wouldn't pick up? Similar. I tried rubbing the powder with a tissue to break into it. Seemed to work (and since I'm not big on "powdery looks" the fact that it picked up minimally then was actually nice). However, the "tissue treatment" has to be repeated with EVERY use, sometimes multiple times. There's something uncool about that. Not a fan.Read more ›

Before I opened the small box containing the four (4) palettes, I noted the cosmetic was made in Italy and the U.S.A. I was pleased about that, I don't know who made the actual Blushing Beauty colors and this was the first time I was using Jouer products. I have worn make-up for many, many years and enhancing my skin rather than covering it with a thick foundation is important. Jouer met many of the criteria. Here are the pros and cons of this unique product.

Pros: the containers as illustrated are contained in a small see-through pouch tied with a ribbon making it perfect for travel or slipping into almost any-sized purse.
The eye shadow combination appears to be perfect for any coloring. It did NOT make my eyes itch which is a big plus.
The cheek tint with highlighter is also a safe color for any type of skin.
The gloss actually stayed on! I like the color, especially for the spring.

Cons:
The matte touch powder and bronzer is hardly visible without a foundation underneath. I tried it both ways. I have a very light complexion and it had almost no coverage without any primer. It should have been more apparent.
The containers are somewhat hard to open and of a lesser quality. I also believe a higher quality make-up case or container is indicative of a better product.

However, I will use this product; it combines basic make-up needs and there is an overall smoothness to the coverage.

The only thing I do not like about this makeup is the way the containers fit together. When I finally got them apart, I kept them that way. The eye shadow is excellent and definitely the equivalent of my regular eye shadows by Urban Decay and Mac. The lip gloss is the weakest product in the lot. Over a lipstick, it is great, but by itself, it does not go on smoothly and ends up looking spotty.

The parts I like are the translucent powder & bronzer duo, cheek tint, two powder eyeshadow shades. I don't like the moisturizing lip gloss at all. It does not make my lips feel moisturized and it is kind of gritty feeling.

All the containers connect and are not easy to pull apart or put back together. I also think for the price it should come with applicators/brushes.

Personally I like the color palate of the set, especially the eye shadows and translucent powder. I was not impressed with the lip gloss and the tint (doesn't work for me). The way each compartment fits together is clever but a pain to change. For the price it should include brushes or applicators.

I'm pale. Think the following foundation shades: "001," "fair," "Snow White." Yeah, like THAT pale. So, when I say that these type of "sets" tend not to work for me, you can probably understand why. So, with this in mind, here is my experience:

A.) I LOVE the way these pieces slide together to create a single unit. While it is a little difficult to see this here, even the lipgloss slides into place! And, when all locked into place, the entire set is about the size of a deck of cards. For me, this is incredibly convenient. Until receiving this kit, I has a small cosmetics bag in my briefcase that was filled with very similar items and was taking up about three times the space in my briefcase. Therefore, this is a welcome change! (More room for energy bars! Wooo!)

B.) The lipgloss is gorgeous. It seems that this product would complement anyone's complexion. I has a VERY similar lipgloss a few years ago ... it was from Stila's "Kitten" collection. I am so thrilled to find a near replica! It has a little shimmer and feels great on my lips. Awesome!

C.) The tint and eyecolor are also lovely. Again, these seem fairly universal, require minimum effort, and deliver a genuinely "pretty" appearance. Additionally, they seem to last a typical length of time (I do wear a powder over my foundation, so that may help these "stay put" well).

D.) The bronzer. For me, this was a "no go." It was so dark that it made me look like that "Tan Mom" from New Jersey. Even with a light, light touch, I still looked bananas. HOWEVER, this goes back to my introduction ... I am super pale. So, know that this could look amazing on you.
