Good shoe but loud

The upper is great, the insole comfortable. The heel is capped with a hard plastic instead of rubber, resulting in louder than desirable footsteps on hard floors. I replaced the plastic cap with a softer rubber and they are significantly quieter and more comfortable.

Poor Quality

I have been wearing Bostonians for years and they have always been good quality, lasting at least a year or more before showing any significant signs of wear. However, after wearing for just a few weeks, these shoes have started to completely fall apart. The sole has worn through under the ball of my foot on the right shoe (water now seeps into the shoe), the sole has started to split on the sides of both shoes, the lace ripped apart when tying the left shoe, and the inner lining on the left shoe has ripped open and now catches on my toes when I walk.

I am not sure if these were just duds or if Amazon is selling inferior quality items bought at a discount from Bostonian. I would return them, but Amazon provides no guarantee of the products it sells, and only allows 30 days for returns. Will not be buying shoes on Amazon again.

Great dress shoe for work! May run a half size to a size large - read reviews!

Husband wears these to work. He says they are very comfortable. They look nice and he can wear them all day without his feet hurting or the shoe rubbing his foot the wrong way. They have held up very well but he does not wear them daily (like he may a black colored shoe).

My husband is normally a size 14 but occasionally wear a size 13. Many other reviewers have said this shoe runs large. This was one of the size 13 shoes he could wear without issues.

Shoes have already started falling apart after 31 days

I have owned the shoes for 31 days and the inside of the shoe has started to fall apart. I have only worn the shoes 4-5 times, which is very disappointing and I have only been wearing them at work (I change to tennis shoes for the walk home). I would have liked to return them but I am only a few days past Amazon's return date. I have owned Bostonian shoes in the past which were very good but these are simply not high quality and are very very cheaply made.

Great Inexpensive Dress Shoe

I like these shoes a lot more than I thought when I first received them. I knew they were on the cheaper side and when I first tried them on, I was worried they would be too uncomfortable and would fall apart almost immediately. After a week or so of having them in the shoe rotation, they have surprised me. I can wear them all day (in the hospital where I'm on my feet 8-10 hours a day) without any pain. We'll see how long they hold up... But for the price, so far it's been 100% worth the purchase.

Good looking Shoe fits a bit large.

Purchased these for special events (my son's wedding in April) so I have not worn them for any length of time. They look good but are a bit long. The width is good, they do not hurt the top of my foot and they are not slipping off my heal when I walk, so I am satisfied.

Great value dress shoe at this price point (around $100).
This shoe style (Bostonian Calhoun Limit) and Bostonian Akron can be found most places for around $100, and I continue to keep this Bostonian line as part of my wardrobe due to their durability.
This is a classic Cap-Toe Oxford that can be worn with jeans, khakis, slacks or suits.
(The dark Burgundy color goes with Anything you might wear)
In my experience, I expect about a full year of daily office use (5 days a week) before the bottom (typically in the heel) shows wear.
I have never worn though the soles of this Bostonian shoe in under a year (but I have worn out soles in 3 other comparable brands in under a year)
Sizing accuracy: I wear a size 11 and this Calhoun allows slightly more room than an average 11, which works out great for me. Very comfortable.
Amazon has the best prices for these by a long shot (better than Clark's, DSW, Zappos,& the Bostonian outlet [2nd best price])

They seem to be of good quality and durable, but I've only been wearing them for a couple of weeks. Break-in was pain free! They do seem to run a little big. I had purchased my normal size in other shoes (9 1/2) and had to return them for a 1/2 size smaller. Still not tight at all.

not worth the price

Disappointed, it looks good, but actually it is too stiff, very hard to put on. The sole is hard, looks like plastic. Unconfortable, I will not wear it too much.
