I'm older and have developed little lines around my lips. I "outline" my lips with this clear lip liner and then apply my lipstick. No more lip color spreading down those little verticle lines.

I'm surprised by these reviews, I thought for sure they would be rave reviews because I love this lip pencil. I DO use it to fill in my whole lip, and my lipstick doesnt budge. (and I'm a smoker). Mine wasn't too soft, the tip broke once that I remember. (you can always stick it in the freezer) For this price, this is a bargain.
**EDIT** When I made this review, I only paid $3 for this pencil, I see they hiked the price up.

I've used feathering pencils in the past and can't do without one! This works great as it keeps my lipstick from "bleeding". I also like the reasonable price! The Milani pencil does just as good as the more expensive ones so I'll keep buying this one!

super soft and the tip broke off immediately and right out of the box, like another review said, so that was pretty disappointing. I was using a light touch so I was pretty annoyed when the thing snapped off. pretty thin, basic liner other than that.

What a Rip Off, only a very small amount sticks out of the pencil, and it is NOT expandable. I've used many other brands and this one gives next to nothing of what you are paying for - the anti-feathering lip liner. You will be lucky to use it 3-4 times before the pencil edges start to scratch your lips. Don't bother. Also, so tiny that trying to use a lip brush will not work.

One of the reviews said you could use it to prep your whole lips, rather than just the edges, but right out of the box the sharpened narrow tip broke off. It had to be sharpened, and a lot was lost. It is very thin, and definitely not meant for anything other than lining the lips, and even that is chancy. You have to be careful not to break off the soft tip. For a product of waxy substance that is this soft, the pencil should be thicker to make it stronger.

So I dont know what kind of hulk hands most of the people who write a review for this product have, but the tip of the liner is not fragile at all. I used it to outline my lips and then fill it in, which does wonders for keeping the lipstick from staying on a little longer by the way, and it has not broken of in any way. I would be cautious when sharpening just to make sure you don't get an excessive amount of the liner. And get a sharpener that is actually GOOD befor you say that this is an awful product. For the price,it isn't bad at all. Would i prefer it to be retractable? Sure. But the liner in itself works well if used correctly like any other Milani brand!
