Having taken up trail running recently, I've been looking for a product hat would hold my phone, my car key and my house key comfortably without holding me down or forcing me to wear a belt. The Gear Beast Band fits the bill for all three items so far.
Upon taking it out of the bag, it did have that off putting "rapidly manufactured" smell, but it went away after leaving it to air out for a day or so. You can see what it looks like in the wrapper in the first picture. For scale purposes, you can compare the size of the thing against my palm which is around 4 inches across.
I'm not a big guy by any means, but it fit comfortably across my 14" biceps. It seems to fit the best when its on the side of your arm as opposed to right on top of the bicep. Found that one out the hard way haha. I fit a size medium or so shirt if this gives you an idea of scale. It comes with an extension too in case you're bigger, but I didn't need to use it.
It did a pretty good job of staying in place throughout an hour of up and down hill jogging, hiking and the occasional snag from a tree branch.
In terms of the touch screen experience, it was very responsive for texting and navigating through various apps. My only main complaint with this portion of the band was the thumb print reader didn't work. I think the way the Galaxy S6's thumb print reader works the plastic in between causes it to fail. Not sure if there's an easy way around this, but you can always use your secondary authentication method when the biometric / thumb print scan fails to fire off.
Overall I would recommend it if you're looking for something minimalist and inexpensive to hold your phone and keys.
