    There are plenty of legends in the sage of mead wine. The story behind pyment is that when sugar made its way to Europe in the 15th century, honey became scarce. Grapes had migrated north with the Roman conquests. The shortage of honey created a need to stretch the honey. The newly available grapes were combined with honey and pyment was born. Hidden Legend Meadery's pyment is a blend of red grape wine and honey wine crafted to commemorate this period of history.

I love Mead, but have a hard time finding it in any of the shops. I was very excited to find Hidden Legend on Amazon. This is my first shipment and I have to say, I will be back for so much more. Its HEAVENLY. The Kings Pymt has an amazing flavor, but its easy to over enjoy it, so be careful LOL!!
I haven't opened the other two yet, they were a gift for a friend in a State that can't be shipped mead, but I might have to order another shipment because I don't know if I can stop myself from trying the other two :D

I am not an alcohol connoisseur by any means, but I like to try different things from time to time.
I like this variety pack, among which my top two were "The Kings Pyment" and "The King's Mead" probably because unlike the other in the selection, I found these were not too sweet and tasted like a high tannin wine.

I am glad with this purchase and give it 4 to 4.5 stars.

As a hobby bee owner, I am interested in making mead from my own honey. However, given the work involved in harvesting the honey I wanted to try some before I wasted any. I was very pleased with this purchase. This may be the best alcoholic beverage I have tasted. I loved the sweetness and the strong honey aftertaste. The Cyser apple/honey combo was especially good. I will purchase more and will try the other flavors. Now I'm off to find some Mead brewing recipes...
