Well I have only had these boots for about 3 weeks when I noticed that the sole of the right boot from the arch up to the toe guard had completely come unglued. The good news is that I didn't notice because my foot never got wet because of inner membrane waterproofing. For 150 bucks I was not expecting any issues so soon but I called Amazon and Keen and they with no hesitation sent me out a new pair and let me wear the defective ones until I got the new ones

I bought these on a recommendation from a coworker. They are stiff but look like they will break in well. I'm pleased with the foot protection and comfort. MY biggest issue was the ankle support which i could not get tight due to the wide opening boot and V cut in the back. I rotate lace ups and slip ons at my job as a Merchant Marine. I wear one or the other based on what we are doing that day. I would not trust my ankle in these I will return them for the Pittsburghs. They are light and very breathable for such a big boot would recommend for hot weather.

I've tried numerous brands and styles of safety toe in my adult life. This is my first experience with Keen. I bought these as a replacement for my combat boots that I wore during the later part of my military career. I now work in a machine shop and I am on my feet, on oily concrete, for about 10 hours a day. Some days I'm walking nonstop, some days I'm standing in the same spot the entire time, some days I'm crouched, hunched, or on the trapeze 40 feet in the air on a beam. I needed a shoe that could handle all of that without killing my feet/legs/back. The two biggest reasons for buying these are my back/leg pain from my old ones, and with winter approaching, the slippery heel of the combat boots. Those things might as well be ice skates.

I've had these for several weeks now. Out of the box, I could tell they are going to last a while. It had nice thick, sturdy leather, a scuff resistant material covering the toe and lower arch, and a good tread. The insole seemed okay at the time. Upon trying them on, they fit well but didn't feel much different than my old boots in the comfort category. I figured they just needed to be broken in.

On the first day at work with them, I noticed several things. I used a hiker's lacing to keep my heel as far back as possible because they were a little snugger around the toe than anticipated.. bad idea. The "padding" at the top of the shoe put a nice sized indent into my achilles that was almost too painful to bear after 10 hours of wear. I also noticed the heaviness and bulk of the shoe, most likely a product of it's sturdy construction. There is so much padding around the ankle that wearing normal slacks can be annoying when they ride up on top of the shoe after kneeling or getting out of the car. Day two was somewhat better.

I wear a 13EE, with high arches and heel spurs. No work boot is gonna make me truly happy. These come as close as is likely. Ever. Out of the box they appear well made, as good as any of the many. many pairs of big-name boots I've had over the years. The toe box is pretty roomy. Using a hiker's boot-lacing trick, I was able to keep my heels from sliding around and keep my toes from hammering in there. In action, over a couple of 12-hour days with plenty of walking and working in odd positions, I came out pretty much unscathed. Recommended.

I work in the water and waste water industry, I've had pretty much every boot out there. Most of them lasted 6-8 months, I am very hard on boots plus the chemicals and raw sewage don't help. I've owned these boots for 9 months now and they're still in good shape, and are still comfortable. I was skeptical when purchasing these boots, I bought them directly from Keen.com. But after putting them through a lot of abuse, they are still waterproof. I've only put mink oil on them once after 6 months of wear, I can wear these boots for 12 hours and my feet feel great. Will definitely purchase another pair

Update 12/10/15 Feet are killing me and I use the same orthotics in the Milwaukee.. Also read hear that another buyers top lace hook broke, (I can confirm it's happened to me also).. Back to the Milwaukee; A MUCH BETTER BOOT!

5 miles the first day and not a single hot spot, great padding around ankle and tongue, no pinching from safety toe. No doubt could do 10+ miles of work in these a day without fatigue. Big difference in weight compared to KEEN MILWAUKEE STEEL.... Verdict is still out on the slip resistance of the sole but it has got to be BETTER then the MILWAUKEE soles..

I use http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049H0UR8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 arch supports in all my boots and they provide my arch supports.GREAT FOOT BED!!

for the question above as for arch support its decent could be better though. Other that they are very comfortable. I bought these ones cause I have them in brown and didn't have a black pair of steel toes anymore as my timberland pro died on me after 6yrs of service. I only wear my work boots for a year or 2 on the job, then I turn them into my landscape/yard boots, painting/oil changing, house hold chore boots. Normally I don't buy work boots cause I work for the railroad and we get free work boots every year. The brown keens I spoke about, I got for free from work, well I had to pay the difference of $15 since they were more than the company copay. But all in all these black ones are sweet and I love the scuff guard on the toe.
