I liked the idea of this tub mostly because our daughter is mid-transition between her infant tub and the full bath. I thought that this would be perfect because she could sit in this larger tub without the insert, and we could waste less water than we do filling the whole bath. Unfortunately, I found the tub completely unusable both with and without the insert.

As soon as I pulled it out of the box, I realized this this was much larger than typical infant tubs. Because it's designed so that toddlers can sit up without the insert, the tub portion is quite large. (Any water savings from not filling the bathtub for a toddler are likely offset by the water wasted when a tub this size is filled for an infant.) I also noticed, as have several other reviewers, that the drain holes in the bottom of the insert are rough - rough enough to scratch a baby's sensitive skin.

I tried first with the insert. Unfortunately, the insert floats mostly free in the tub (with just a small plastic tab to attach it to a slot in the tub), so as I filled the tub, the insert floated upwards. I was able to address this by holding down the insert while water slowly trickled through the three holes at the bottom of the insert. (Filling the tub with the insert end under the faucet may also solve this problem, but I expect that all parents have their own preferences for which way their baby faces and don't want to have to turn their tub one way or the other because of poor infant tub design.) The real issue, though, came when I put my daughter in. Despite the green area that is supposed to provide traction, she was constantly slipping downward. Any time I wasn't holding her in place, she'd slip straight down the insert.

This tub is probably the worst baby item we got. Unfortunately we registered for it because we were first time parents and didn't know better (that's what I get for not reading reviews first!). As a tub for newborns it works great for use on a countertop, that is its only saving grace (and the reason it gets 2 stars instead of 1). Once you move the insert to either end for an older infant you realize the bottom of the insert is much too slippery for the baby to support itself. A slippery tub and slippery baby make a bad combo! So I bought Slip-X Tub Tattoos for the bottom of the insert (I had to use all 5 to make the insert usable) which were a great purchase (bought them here on Amazon). Fast forward a few months and my baby is ready to use just the white part of the tub and we run into the same problem, it's way too slippery for him to sit in it! So I just had to invest in MORE tub tattoos! I know they will "solve" the problem but it is annoying that I had had to spend an additional $12 to make this tub usable for my family!

Exactly as it looks here in the photo. We used it for the first time this week for our 7 lb. newborn, and she fit nicely in the blue section. We gave her a bath on the couch because I am recovering from a c-section and wanted to be a part of her first bath-- I love the versatility of the tub that we can bathe her anywhere it's convenient for us. You could put this in the bathtub as well!

I absolutely love the idea of this tub. A tub that can be adjusted for 3 different stages. It comes in 2 pieces. The larger which is referred to as the Toddler Tub and the smaller tub that fits into the toddler tube 2 different way. This smaller tub is referred to as the Infant Positioner.

Stage 1 is the newborn position where the infant positioner is placed across the width of the larger, toddler tub. This allows for your baby to be facing you while bathing them. It's nice to be able to have your baby face you while bathing them.

Stage 2 is the reclined infant support where the infant positioner is placed across the length of the toddler tub. This gives your infant a little more leg room and they're still reclined but not as flat as in stage 1.

Stage 3 is the toddler tub where you simply use the toddler tub only. This is for when your child is able to sit up on their own but you still don't want them sitting up in a full sized bath tub. I love this option. A nice little toddler sized tub. Very useful.

I like this set quite a bit but have 1 problem with it, it's pretty hard, mostly all plastic with a tiny, thin foam cushion that your baby rests against in the infant positioner. I think it would've been better if there was some sort of soft, padded material that would be softer, especially for newborns. Since the toddler tub is all plastic, it can be a bit slippery. I like to lay a hand towel down at the bottom of the tub to make it softer and not so slick.

Overall, I think this is a really great tub. I love the look and design and I would recommend it.

This is a great concept but needs some work.

*It is LARGE when removed from the box and not easily stored. Something to consider if you are lacking in extra space.
*The plastic is relatively thin but SUPER slippery
*The foamy insert that sits on the infant bath isn't plush or thick enough to really add any comfort.

*It does grow with your child, but I am not sure you need this for a toddler who is able to be in a bathtub by that age.
*Nice to look at, sleek design and pleasant colors.

The biggest problems are:
*drainage holes are slightly rough, and are located where the baby is sitting.
*slippery tub is not ideal for bathing a newborn or wiggly infant.
*infant insert tends to float which makes it super difficult to work with if you are holding down the insert while placing the baby.
