For the money, it's an alright Rc vehicle.

Pros:

It flies, it rolls, it climbs flat surfaces.
Quick charging, decent battery life.

Cons:

There is no reality where this vehicle can be properly trimmed
Inability to properly trim vehicle results in spinning, even when crawling up a flat surface
Crawl has to be on a completely flat surface, or the vehicle loses stability
Instability in rotor design results in rotor collision on impact with a surface
Lack of durability in rotor assymbly results in diminished durability(rotors lasted a whopping three days before breaking)
Inability to control direction of the vehicle when crawling up or across a surface other than the ground
IR control, which requires DLoS to control vehicle

The Reality:

While this vehicle looks durable, and does most of what it claims, it isn't worth the price tag. Some relatively inexpensive design changes could be made to ensure that the vehicle has a survivability of more than a handful of crashes; afterall, this is advertised as being durable. The cage itself is flimsy, which is a benefit in terms of shock absorbancy; however, it is too flimsly to withstand deflecting too far with a crash at morderate height or velocity. This reality actually negates the shock absorbancy of the cage, resulting in rotor collosion with the cage itself. Once airborne, or climbing across a surface other than the ground, all lateral control is lost. It appears that the vehcile relies on a weighted boom to control the direction of forward motion, which works well only while crawling across the ground. The IR method requires that the control and vehicle maintain direct line of sight in order for the vehicle to function.Read more ›

The cage may be protective for the walls, but that apparently doesn't stop the rotor assembly from flying apart at random. While at this price I wasn't expecting precision flight or fine design details, I was expecting not to throw $45 away on 5 minutes of use. I'm not sure who's more disappointed- me for having wasted the money or my kid for one of the most promising gifts he got to be ruined so quickly.

Very Disappointed! I received this to try out and review as a promotion thru bzzagent. My 7 year old son was super excited to use it. The controller takes 6 AA batteries. The charging cord that connects to the copter is conveniently stored within the controller so it cannot get lost. It charges pretty quickly (I think it took about 20 minutes). My husband started off flying it and it seemed to be pretty easy. It was nearly impossible for it to roll up our walls though because we have a lot of molding. But it was fun to fly it in our 2 story foyer (it made it to the top). My son and I started to use it and it crashed a few times. After that it was almost impossible to fly. It would barely get off the ground. That's when I noticed that one of the propellers had already broken. There is a little "wrench" shaped piece on each side of the blade to connect it (shown in photo). One of the pieces was hanging off so I was able to reattach it. The other piece was completely missing. We searched everywhere trying to find it but couldn't. If I locate that tiny piece we could probably fix it and get it flying again. But I feel like it definitely should have lasted more than 10 minutes, especially since it's enclosed in the cage. I think the concept of the cage is great but somehow it still managed to break.

I received this product to try out and review as part of a campaign from BzzAgent. I was so excited to receive this, as the mother of 2 boys, ages 7 and 5. Directly upon receipt, I gave it to my kids, and my husband (aka my oldest child) to have at it.

PROS:It was ready to go out of the box, no assembly needed, which anyone with kids knows is a great plus. It required 4 AA batteries for the remote/charging station. It fully charges in 15 minutes, which results in about 15 to 20 minutes of flying time. Quick charging, also a plus. The controller is fairly easy to operate, my husband figured it out very quickly, and was able to show my boys easily, which was good, as they were begging for their turn. My 5 year old was flying in no time. You push the switch forward to fly forward etc. The cage is supposed to allow the copter to roll on the floor and up the walls to ceiling. This it does, which my boys loved and it impressed the adults as well.
CONS: While it walks up and down the walls and across the ceiling as advertised, it tends to fly a bit aimlessly, and often veers off and crashes into walls or furniture. If this happens, the copter ceases to work. We feared ours was broken, but there is a flashing red light, and a switch that you turn on and off as a reset and it is up and moving again. Given that it seemingly flies as it wants, this happens often, so you will get savvy to the reset switch quickly. The 15 to 20 minutes of fly time can go by quickly, requiring a recharge, but it does recharge quickly so it sort of evens out. Every once it a while, it sounds like the blades are hitting against each other, or getting tangled up, this causes the copter to crash.Read more ›
