I got these to stop my cat from scratching the corners of my leather sofa, and they did the trick. I'd buy them again.

CONS: It's true about the stickiness of this product. It's not very sticky, and after applied you could easily pull it off furniture with just your fingertips. Perhaps this is the point though, not to leave too much adhesive behind. It also doesn't look great--it loooks like you have tape applied to your furniture. But a little unattractiveness is way better than furniture damage.

How did it work? I applied these things to the two back corners my sofa, the area the cat liked to use as a scratching post. It took about four strips per corner edge to fully cover the area the cat liked to scratch, but there are lots of strips in the package so I had plenty to spare.

At the exact same time (and I think this is important) I put out a new cardboard scratching board ($10-15) very close to the sofa. After just one attempt, the cat IMMEDIATELY stopped scratching the sofa and switched to using the scratching board instead. That new setup worked overnight, and five months later it's still working.

It worked like a charm, so I highly recommend the product and that approach.

Cats hate to touch sticky-feeling things. These strips are super-sticky to the touch and don't harm upholstery fabrics, even when left in place for months. My furniture looks great and my cat scratches OTHER things--her TurboScratcher, her sisal mats, etc. Bravo!

I bought these after seeing my cat's handiwork on my new chair. I watched the cat jump onto the chair seat that I had applied Sticky Paws to. Then I watched the cat jump promptly off the chair! I guess cats really don't like the stickiness. And it sticks well to the fabric.

You do need a lot of these strips to cover any desired area. Also, you need to read the fine print on the product - it may damage certain surfaces (such as, but not limited to, wood, painted surfaces, leather, vinyl, wallpaper), so you'd have to do a small test on the surface. And the print says it is ineffective on non-stick or stain-repellant products (such as Scotchgard). Since I applied the product to a non-Scotchgard, fabric chair, it's fine for me so far.

We fostered three kittens, and they were wreaking havoc on all the furniture. I got these, in hopes that they'd help. We applied then to a denim armchair, and a non-leather office chair (whatever the fabric they normally use for that is), which were the kittens' favorite things to dig their claws into (other than the woven couch, which we just gave up on saving). The strips stuck wonderfully on these fabrics, and the kittens did stop scratching where the strips were. However, they did just sort of move to different parts of the furniture to scratch.

We put horizontal strips, spaced irregularly, on the back of the denim armchair. That way, the kittens couldn't scratch down without hitting at least one Sticky-paw strip, so they stopped scratching.

Most annoying thing about these; They stick to you too. So, if your kittens like scratching the headrest of your chair, and you put Stickypaws on it, your hair is going to get stuck in the sticky paws as well. We found that if we covered the parts of the furniture that we couldn't use sticky paws on with 3M ScotchBlue Painter's Tape, 2-Inch by 60-Yard, 1-Roll (2090-2J), the kittens stopped scratching, It didn't look particular great, covering our furniture with painter's tape, but it saved our furniture, and at a lower cost than getting TONS of sticky paws strips.

These strips didn't stick to my furniture, which is a polyester weave -- standard fabric. I made my own. Put the sticky side of clear contact paper facing out and attach each corner with upholstery twist pins. The contact paper is great because you can cover a very large area if you need to. Obviously this won't work on leather because the pins would put a hole in the leather.

This product might work well, but once it was time to remove from my couch it took strips of the leather too. I didn't read the fine print. It was my fault. But I wish they would state what surfaces are safe when advertising on Amazon and other sites. It would've saved some heartache.

I got these from a friend. We put these on the back of our brand new leather couch to keep the cat from climbing up the back of it and using it as a scratch post. The only thing it did was gather lots of fur, so there looked like big strips of fur on the back of the couch. So I decided to remove the strips and it complete removed the color of the leather with the tape. The tape turned out brown as I pulled it off, and my brand new expensive couch has these huge stripes of color missing! I'm so upset!!!! This is NOT SAFE for your furniture! It won't leave a sticky residue, but it will remove the color from your couch!

New couch and Pepper and Willow mistakenly thought I had purchased them a new scratching post! I applied these to the corners of the couch and also placed a scratcher nearby (Kong Naturals Incline Scratcher Cat Toy) and it solved the problem. Easy to apply and they have lasted about 6 months so far. My couch is fabric and they stick well.
