Our 15 mo old son has special needs and this has been THE BEST TOY for him! He cannot sit on his own and has very low motor skills. However, I can put this on the tray of his chair or even on the floor with him laying down or on his tummy. Either way, it gets his attention and he plays with it! The buttons activate the toy with very little pressure and the volume is not overpowering. The music on each level is pleasant and the lights are not too bright or crazy. In addition to physical challenges, our son has a seizure disorder. But this toy does not induce seizures for him. The rounded bottom allows it to wobble or turn around when touched which makes pushing buttons fun and easy! As a music educator, the instrumentation is a little off, but overall, even the musical/rhythmic aspects of this toy are great!

Great toy! I use this toy frequently during early intervention speech therapy sessions with kids ages 1-3. Toy is engaging with music and lights but is not over stimulating. Buttons are easy to push. Flat design of toy allows kids to play with it many ways including on his/her lap, on the floor for tummy time activity, holding in both hands, or on a table or tray.

This is a nice developmental toy. It has 5 large, colored buttons that function. There are three different modes for baby to play. Mode 1 is primarily a sound mode. When the button is pressed, it lights up and plays a chord. Then it will play a light show and tune that is more classical music.

It chimes with a specific time when switching between modes. Mode 2 is a little more interactive. It plays modern music and allows baby to join in by pressing keys that will then add that sound to the tune.

Mode 3 is more of a game mode. It plays a tune and wants baby to press the last key lit. It gives a few moments to do this. This function will entertain baby but is intended for slightly older children.

My older children love to play with my 12 month old and this toy. They make a game out of it. It is also convenient in size and fits easily into a diaper bag or purse. This is great for those that need to take some whetstone with them but don't want a lot of bulk. I would buy this as a gift for other infants and toddlers or even purchase again for my own children. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a multifunction musical toy because it progresses in function for very small to slightly older toddlers.

The original Simon game was one of my favorites as a kid, so I was really excited to find this baby toy version, but I'm pretty disappointed with it. I figured that a specific button would make the sound of the instrument pictured throughout all three settings, but it's only for one and there is so much background music taking place that it leaves no room for creativity or the opportunity for any baby/toddler to learn what sound each picture/ button makes.
