I do not like the pebbly surface and that is not a good start,
These are also not as sturdy as previous product I have used from Avery but with the new more delicate printers I can
understand why.
With this product you need to go to Avery.cpm/print on line to get a template and for other design and product details.
It is an okay product and I will use it but it is not stellar and I expect better from Avery.
It does take ink well and the colors used look great.
So I gave it only 3 stars.
Also the stock has an almost icky feel because of that pebble surface.

I usually LOVE Avery products. Usually. Their products are typically user-friendly and they typically have templates for their products that you can DOWNLOAD onto your computer. Unfortunately, this isn't the case for this item.

The product itself isn't too bad. They are a rather sturdy card-stock that can hold up pretty well. I plan to use them as temporary nameplates in my classroom. As you can tell from the measurements, the cards aren't very big at all. When I chose these, I pictured larger ones. When I opened the package, I was caught off guard when these little place cards came out. Just be aware of this before purchasing them.

Template-wise, you have two choices: online or Word. Because I like to save everything I do, I downloaded the Word template. As another reviewer stated, it wasn't an easy feat to do. Rather than being a normal template, it downloads as a table. If you've ever used tables in Word, you know they can get kinda wonky. Graphics and text are very finicky in tables and one wrong move makes your table resize itself. There goes your template! Items have to be individually added and that can take a lot of time! Basically, it's just a big mess. The online template is easier to use but I don't like doing that.

Right now I can't recommend these because of the challenges or, shall I say, the lack of a "real" template. Sorry Avery. :(

The instructions are very easy to follow before you get to setting the printer to best quality. I don't know how to do this and perhaps I should have increased the resolution? The templates are gorgeous and I found one perfect one with the Eiffel Tower. The black printed part came out slightly messy (due to black on white paper). As the names are printed on both sides of each place card, I noticed that making changes to one side does not automatically apply to the other side, and I didn't find how to do it. So I did the same thing for both sides. For some reason, every single card came with a 30 font and the text was going up into the image. When you slide it down, it gets out of the picture. You need to center vertically the text. I thought this should not have happened as the font and its size come automatically with each template. At the end, one side of cards came slightly lower than the other and I had to cut the bottom of the card manually because the dotted line cut through the text. Despite all this, it is a nice feature and I love it. My little place cards look beautiful.

This is an excellent product, for an economical price. It is extremely easy to use. It provides many options for designs selection. It also gives you an option to choose your own design from the web or your own art work.
I used it for my daughter's wedding and they looked beautiful.
I would definitely recommend this product without any hesitation.

I noticed a lot of reviewers complained about the texturing. I found if I set my printer settings to high quality printing, the cards come out beautiful. If you keep your printer on normal quality I agree with other reviews, they do not print very well. Would definitely purchase again

This is a very good product. We had a slight problem following the Avery provided instructions to get the place cards to print properly. I checked with the Avery help desk, and their software technicians for assistance, and surprisingly they couldn't provide a solution. We were able to get the place cards to print properly by ignoring the Avery provided directions and advice, and just inserted the product into the printer bottom side first (opposite of the printing guide). It printed beautifully and perfectly centered in all instances on the template. If you have an HP Printer (or any other printer) and are frustrated trying to center the cards onto the template...try the old upside down trick. To Avery's credit, their customer service folks did provide me a replacement pack of place cards for my frustration and trial and error lost cards.

I am a big fan of the Avery brand and have used dozens of their products through the years. With a halfway decent printer (either laser or inkjet), Avery templates can be found for almost anything from address labels to postcards to name badges to business cards and many things in between. At first, their releases tended to skew more toward home organization (CD labels) or business usage (mailing labels) but some recent additions are taking a bite out of expensive party planning. Now you don't have to go to a commercial printer to pay for party supplies. It just seems like a complete waste of money when it's so easy to do with home printing. And the quality of home printers has gone up so greatly in the last few years, so it becomes a perfect marriage.

I recently had the opportunity to sample three new Avery products: the Party Banner, the Menu Cards, and the Place Cards. While none of these items is exactly a necessity, they certainly do class up a conventional dinner party. Here's my breakdown (I putting them all in one review as they are linked thematically).

Don't know how to use Avery? It's practically idiot proof! Maybe that's why I like it! You go to the Avery website, enter your product information, and it gives you various designs that you can use or customize. There is different art work, borders, images, and even different ways to use each product. Pick one, customize it, and hit print with the appropriate Avery product loaded in the printer. Makes you feel both handy and artistic while doing a minimum of actual work.
