These are the best boots I have ever owned, I use them for mixed routes and ice routes. The quality is superb, the fit is perfect, I bought the 13 wide, I have a hard time finding boots to fit, these are great. They hike way better than most mountaineering boots. They are very warm. Cannot say enough good about these boots.

Worth every penny

Took these and my new Salewa MS Pro Verticals as well on a expedition. I had about 90-110lbs in gear on my back as well. Prior to these I had $400+/- Asolos that are great as well...however these Salewa's...REALLY REALLY took the crown on Hiking boots. They are extremely comfortable and did not require any break in before taking them through HELL and back. First use I hiked well over 40 miles with (as I said) 90-110lbs of gear. Brilliant boots. I have not found better.

My second pair of Salewa's, and definitely not my last. These are some serious boots! Unbelievable support yet flexible all around. And talk about grip! I can walk across an ice-skating rink without no noticeable slipping whatsoever. They are a little heavy, but then again, they have to be to provide the kind of solid platform they do.

As for the price, they are the best boots I've ever had for a very reasonable price.
