I currently own: ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Littler Box so I will be comparing this Pet Zone EZ Scoop with that one.

One of the very first things that stood out for me was the ease of use. Yes this works just like my ScoopFree but instead of moving the used clumps to the side and "hide" them under one corner of the box this Pet Zone EZ Scoop will actually deposit the clumps in a separate bin with a bag inside. I like this idea more than my ScoopFree since you can remove your used litter much easier instead of having to wait until you change the whole tray out. BUT even though I say its ease of use stood out to me it unfortunately doesn't have the right mechanics. When you are trying to flip the litter into the tray it is not a simple task. The two biggest issues are that when you try to flip the used clump tray over it doesn't do this in a fluid motion. In fact you have to really work it to flip properly. Also when trying to flip used litter would fall out. Also the rake (what is used to pick up clumps) doesn't extend all the way to the bottom which causes small sued clumps to be left behind.

This Pet Zone EZ Scoop is in fact made well, it's very sturdy. The size is large enough for my cat and is in fact slightly smaller than my ScoopFree.

I think the quality and size are perfect but the scoop system needs some major work.

This has worked great for me. I have 12 cats all indoor and they have taken to this. Easy cleaning on a daily basis plus no liter knocked out of the box. makes cleaning and scooping easy. Seriously thinking about switching all my liter boxes to this method. I really think it saves time and is also cleaner. I usually scoop twice a day for 8 liter boxes and with this new liter box saves time and makes it real easy to clean their boxes. Happy cats make happy owners

Pet Zone EZ Scoop No touch litter Box. Think litter maid without the motor. The area the cats actually use is approx.14" x 14" I have three cats two very large and one small. I rake it a lot. It has trouble with picking up the fecal matter. The second time I used it the rake handle assembly popped out and I had to fix it.Fecal matter does stick to the rake. The bags are easy to install but fill up quickly. I am going back to my old box which is a plastic storage crate I cut a u in the side of. It holds a lot of litter it does'nt get tracked out and i use my super scoop once a day.UP DATE TO MY REVIEW> THE MORE I USE IT THE MORE FREQUENTLY THE RAKE MECHANISM FALLS APART>I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT!!!!

I have to start by saying that thanks to my daughter I recently became acquainted with Precious Cat Ultra Premium kitty litter. It is really amazing stuff. It clumps around cat urine to form almost rock hard lumps that can easily be gathered up and thrown away. The clumps never bread apart and they reduce odor to almost nothing. That said, when I put the Precious Cat litter in the Pet Zone EZ Scoop litter box and then tried to clean it the way described in the instructions, the scoop that is the key feature of the box would not move at all. the Precious Cat litter was just too much for it to move. I gave it a real try, but after three weeks I removed the cleaning system entirely and just used it like a regular litter box.

Now, if you use a different kind of litter this might work for you. Some like the sawdust style of litter, or pine chips. They would probably work just fine. Or clumping litter that doesn't clump very hard might work well. But If you are a Previous Cat fan like I am, this litter box simply doesn't do the job. Which is too bad, because I really liked the idea behind it.

We’ve had this cat box for almost a week now – and I am still surprised by how big it is. We have two cats and our other litter box isn’t exactly tine (it has a cover on it and is pretty tall) – but this box just takes up a lot of room.

The idea of this is a good one – but in practice – it isn’t as great as I thought it would be. Using scoopable litter and the rake – you can catch most of the decent sized clumps – but once the rake reaches the end of the box and the rake moves up the side of the box, the functionality isn’t as good. The clumps need to be flipped over into the catch basin, and sometimes they don’t make it cleanly into the box. Maybe if the rake had a rubber bottom, kind of a squeegee – it would do a better job of completely scraping the bottom of the litter box – and it would act as a better guide to get the clumps into the basin.

I know the idea of this litter box is to give the hands-free convenience of the expensive self-cleaning litter boxes without the high price – but I’m just not sure that goal is really achieved here. We’ll keep trying this for a while longer but I don’t see us keeping this long term. It’s just too big and not as convenient as I’d hoped.

When I read no touch, I really thought no touch. Product description is not clear that the thing is actually manual. For the price I thought it was just a cheaper version of the Littermaid. I'm really disappointed and suggest just save your money till you can pay for a Littermaid. It's $50 more. I've had a Littermaid when they first came out and is truly no touch until it's time to take out the plastic box that already has a lid and the smell is almost non-existent. This thing, the grates are too wide apart and only picks up large clumps.This is a waste of your money.
