the package i received has faded barcode stickers on it. it has a "best by" date of "APR 2015" hidden under another sticker.

I know that spices don't spoil, but they do lose their potency over time. Jiva needs to post the "best by" date in the product description for somewhat dated products.

The only thing I wish I'd known before I purchased this turmeric was the date it expired....when it was delivered, I noticed the expiration date was less than 6 months. I love the quality and flavor of the product, better than the one I purchased in the health food store. :)

If you’re going to buy herbs, you should only buy organic. I use a lot of organic herbs, especially Turmeric, Cayenne Pepper, Ginger and Celery Seed. For this review, I received one seven ounce bag of Organic Turmeric Powder! Turmeric is used in many different ways and has become very popular. So, many people use it in cooking, but many are using it for their health.

People are always very surprised how I use Turmeric, I make a health serum with it every day. I always use Turmeric, Cayenne Pepper and Ginger in my serum, but a lot of the other ingredients may change, it depends what I have on hand. It seems to keep me healthy.I’ll tell you one thing for sure, is that it’s VERY HOT! I’m never sick, so it must be doing something for me. I have a Pinterest board called, Herb/Turmeric/Curcumin/Cayenne Pepper/Curcuminoids and it has a lot of links to testimonies of what the herbs have done for people. I just read another great article from Natural News called, Six ways turmeric heals your overburdened body. The articles talks about, easing arthritic pain, slowing liver damage, reversing the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, digestion, helps fight cancer cells and, how it’s a powerful antioxidant that helps promote heart health, memory, and boost the immune system. It has the potential to deliver more antioxidants then even vitamins E and C. Natural News has so many more articles on Turmeric and they are very well worth reading. I would highly recommend Organic Turmeric, it sounds like a miracle herb and I will continue taking it every day!

I love Turmeric and the health benefits it offers. I actually buy this to encapsulate it. I take two capsules every day and I have to say I feel really good knowing it is organic. I also cook with this. I love rice with butter , salt, pepper and turmeric. I've used this in my eggs as well. My favorite recipe for eggs is two eggs about 2 Tbsp Milk, a dash of salt and pepper, about 1/4 tsp Turmeric and a dash of cayenne pepper, scramble them up in a bowl and cook them. They are incredible. I will most definitely be buying this brand again. For the price and flavor alone I am a lifetime customer.

the product is good (fantastic for health benefits), and price was not bad. but it took forever to arrive (almost 2 weeks later than promised) without proper tracking information. who knows where it's been and under what conditions and it is somewhat perishable, i guess not going to ever order food items by mail again. better pay an extra couple of $ at the store, but know it's fresh (hopefully!)...

I have been making and taking golden paste for pain and inflammation with excellent results,until I made a batch with Jiva turmeric!
No pain relief at all,and after taking it for a few days I realized it must be the new turmeric,so I went and bought the same brand I had been using and could tell a difference in my pain level after drinking the first cup.
Junk,I would not recommend wasting your money on this yellow powder that didn't even smell like turmeric after a comparison with the stuff I bought in the spice isle at walmart!

Turmeric is an amazing spice, I use it to cook with & love the flavor it adds to dishes. I think one of my favorite uses is to sprinkle some on popcorn. Jiva Organics has a great quality, tasting turmeric that I also take for health & pain, I can add it to my tea, or warm milk or in capsules & it taste/works amazing. I am so happy to have found this great quality brand at such a great price. I will be telling all my friends to come here for turmeric. Great taste & smells so amazing & fresh.
