I purchased this pan as all of my cookware has aged and is in need of replacement. I cook multiple times a day, every day, and enjoy it greatly. I decided to try out this pan and give All-Clad a go before purchasing additional pans. From what I've read on Cooks Illustrated, thesweethome.com, and Reddit's subreddits (Cookware and Buy it for Life), there is no benefit to the 5-ply or the copper core cookware, and most people prefer the tri-ply hands-down.

Before I bought this I was also considering Mauviel's M'Heritage 250 line, solely from the beauty of the pots and the thought that copper cookware was superior. Across the board the reviews I read claim the cookware is not able to cook food as wonderfully as it is beautiful, so again, I arrive yet again at the cheapest line I was considering. Much to my surprise.

I bought this pan as it seemed like a pan you could use for multiple things. First two goes with it I tried cooking eggs sunny side up, and wontons--things I knew would be good tests of the limit of the pan. I added more fat than I would normally as I understand this can help keep things from sticking to the pan, but alas. Ruined both.

Past those failings, everything I've cooked in this pan has been amazing. From green beans almondine to tomato sauce to slow-cooked lamb shanks finished in the oven, this pan delivers with a beauty, simplicity, and quality I did not expect. I use it for EVERYTHING--of course, with the exception of eggs and wontons. The size is perfect for so many different tasks that I use it every time I cook without fail.

This is a great quality pan. The depth of the dish makes it very versatile. It's good for sautéing, braising, or making a sauce and then adding food to the sauce. There is a larger size if you have a larger family, I would recommend this pan if cooking for 2 people, 3 at most. Great addition to our pan collection.

This is a must have pan for your collection. I'm single and the 2.5 qt is my everyday of the week pan. I sear and braise most of my meats and because of the added depth it becomes a one pan show. With the pans excellent heat distribution reducing sauces is a no risk operation with no hot spots or burning. Please note the "alert" that there is a newer version available is misleading, the "newer" is not the same pan, it does not have the rolled edge which is a clear plus and is not 2.5 qt. The volume of this pan is 2.5 qt filled to the top edge and is 1.5 qt filled to the handle rivets.

Bought this for my husband's birthday and he loves it! (Maybe not as much as I love having a husband who cooks, but a lot.) He uses it often and the Dutch Baby recipe which accompanies it is delicious! It really is perfect for fixing an entire meal for two people and is very versatile.Since I do the clean up, I appreciate how easy it is to clean.
