An unexpected surprise -- a mail order jacket that actually fits me correctly! I wear a Large Tall shirt (17x35) and jacket, and I have a long torso.

    Pro:
    1. The sleeves are long enough, even when I move my arms. No bare wrists.
    2. The fleece zip-in liner is also long enough, which has never happened before.
    3. Jacket length covers my butt. This is unique in my collection of jackets.
    4. Jacket collar is high enough to keep out the cold North wind when fully zipped. I walk 3 miles a day unless it's raining, and most walks are at night.
    5. Jacket is waterproof/breathable. This makes it an excellent raincoat when liner is removed.
    6. I really like the Crayola blue/Navy blue color combination.
    7. Useful hood. I walked across the parking lot to my office building in a freezing rain today. Hood is comfortable and doesn't tug at the jacket while you're walking.
    8. Sturdy zipper.

    Cons
    1. It's only a one-way zipper. What were they thinking?? This means you can't run in this jacket. It also means you can't sit down, either in your car or on a chair/bench, without first pulling the bottom of the jacket up close to your waist. Deduct one star.
    2. No under-arm vents. I walk fast enough to work up a sweat, and this jacket really has no vents when worn without the liner.
    3. This is my first experience with a fleece-lined jacket, and I won't buy another one. When you put the jacket on, the fleece clings to your shirt. It actually takes care and fiddling to pull the coat on while holding on to the ends of your shirt sleeves. The jacket I tried on at REI (same jacket in a regular size) had a different kind of liner, with a smooth, foil-like finish to reflect your body heat back towards your body.

I got this and the heavier coat in preparation for outdoor activities in the rain and I couldn't be happier that I did. This one with the removable hood and the wider sleeve openings (even velcro'd "tight" it's not as snug as the Nordic Cold Front Interchange Jacket) is a great lighter weight option than the Nordic. They both have the exact same inner fleece, so 3 snaps and two zippers and you have a nice comfy fleece as well as a lighter weight waterproof jacket with detachable hood. With the two coats there's a bit of overlap in the fact you now have two fleeces (it would be nice to have a fleece-less option for one, but I didn't see that) and two great jackets/coats. I now have a set of fall/spring and winter gear that I'm pretty sure will last me years to come. Good quality rain-proof gear. I typically have problems enough with sleeve length in shirts I avoid buying long sleeve shirts unless tailored to me specifically, so I was very happy to find these sleeves just long enough. Sitting here typing this I'm wearing a Columbia long sleeve shirt (tee shirt type, not button down) and the sleeves have creeped up past my wrists, so it's not fair to compare the length of other columbia gear to this jacket- the sleeves are longer on this jacket for the same size vs other Columbia gear.

Size: X-Large TallColor: Black Verified Purchase
I returned the jacket because it was too large. (I bought XL-Tall, which is typically my size, though I buy this size to get the sleeve length I need, more than for chest or shoulder room.) If you usually wear a 46 or 48 chest size and have a long upper body, this might be the right size for you.

I decided not to get a smaller size because I didn't want to risk having to return that too, but I thought the quality and construction looked good.

We have been looking for a coat like this for our son who is quite large. I didn't think I would find one, and to find one made be Columbia I was thrilled. My son wears a 4xl. My husband and I have had a 3 in one coat for a couple of years now and we love ours so we were thrilled to find one in my son's size.

Very nice fit. I have the 4x big. I weigh about 315# with broad shoulders (I wear a size 60 suit jacket). I like my clothing a little loose and this has plenty of room to move my arms with no restriction. Wrist elastic is loose enough that I don't end up pulling out the inner liner every time I take off the coat.

The sleeves were a bit long but I assumed that would be the case when I ordered the tall for the extra length. Overall, i really like the fact that you can separate the inner fleece jacket and wear it separately. You can think about it as if you ever offer up your coat to your cold wife or girlfriend, you can still keep the inner wind breaker part if you want so you don't freeze as well.

I got this as a gift for a man that never wears a coat. He tried it on and has worn it everyday since...I say that's a sign he likes it. He wears a 3XT, but I purchased a 4XT for extra room. It's slightly large-he's 6ft 2in 318lbs. Minus one star because it hasn't been fully tested (no snow or rain)

Quality and style was fine. Love the 3-in-1 idea -- great for traveling to replace heavy jacket + light windbreaker + light fleece jacket + light rain jacket + warm waterproof jacket. I ordered this size by mistake. I knew I needed an XL tall, but clicked too fast on the wrong size. Amazon gets high marks for ease of return and fast refund.
